I went to the mountain during the seventh Lunar month. As expected,it was packed with tourists and bumper to bumper vehicles. The sheer number of cars and the annoying indiscriminate parking had choked the narrow road leading to the shrine. The authority should do something to limit the number of vehicle going up the mountain.I was impressed with the panoramic view from Huatai(花台).The cloud enveloped mountains produced a kind of mesmerising sensation.Another advice : if you want to see more scenes, you had to be physically fit as there were lot of steps awaiting you !
One of the famous attractions related to Buddhism that you should not missed out.Scenic and the temples are as original as it can be.Should try out their vegetarian food served in the temple, they are delicious and well done.Tour around the town, it is lovely, and there is an old temple in the town (the oldest) that you should not missed. Visit some of the local shops around. It would be better if you do not visit during the 7th Lunar month of the year (the final 3 days) as it suppose to be the big celebration of Dizang Bodhisattva. In the temple we stayed, the monks offered their morning prayers starting 3am, and it would be a lifetime experience if you can wake up during that time to join in the prayers. On the left, on of the monk will beat the drums, and on the right of the temple, on the metal bell.
