This is one of the hidden jewels on the Sarapiqui region. Takes about 6 kms of gravel road, to enjoy a magical view of the Hule lagoon. There is not a fee admission, but there is a restaurant right there, that offer a great food, a very reasonable price. We do not walk the trails, that it was explain to us that are difficult, and we do not have the time, but the view and the peace worth the trip.

this place was wonderful--no luxury, just a dry place to sleep with basic facilities while exploring the rainforest for birds and wilfdlife. the simple food was delicious. we were there in rainy season (end of september) so were practically the only 2 couples at the place. in spite of the fact that our travel agent accidentally cancelled our birding guide, we did great adding life birds to our list. lots of toucans, parrots, trogons and.... we loved our stay and hiked in spite of the rain, which was pretty predictable--started about 2pm and went the rest of the day but didn't bother us while hiking through the forest birding and looking for sloths, etc. yes we saw a sloth up close on the swinging bridge crossing the river! don't underestimate the chocolate tour. it was unexpectedly unique, charming, informative -- so well done--we loved it. i would go back to this place in a heartbeat, but this time i'd reserve a guide and see even more!

El lugar Cuenta con instalaciones básicas si desea dormir (2 estrellas), pero desde el punto de vista de la naturaleza tiene muchas opciones interesantes: senderos con puentes colgantes donde pueden observar pájaros y monos en su hábitat natural (lleven zapatos cerrados, repelente de mosquitos y agua), hay un Tour de chocolate y una visita nocturna donde pueden observar murciélagos blancos.Si van a comer en el lugar, deben avisarlo con si reservación.

Se llega entrando por nueva cinchona, nosotros nos fuimos por varablanca, pasamos a la catarata de la paz y seguimos hsta cinchona, en nueva cinchona se tomma la calle de acceso que es de lastre, pero llegan bien carros que no sean 4x4, hay rotulacion. De nueva chinchona a la laguna de hule son como 3km.Se visitan las tres lagunas, la principal se llama la Laguna de Hule la misma se puede apreciar desde el mirador/restaurante, El restaurante solo recibe efectivo, la calle de acceso es de lastre, pero llegan bien carros que no sean 4x4, se entra por nueva cinchona, hay rotulacion. De nueva chinchona a la laguna de hule son como 3km.La caminata es muy sencilla, 8km aprox. Se baja hasta las 3 lagunas, se puede coordinar un guia local. Lugar para pasar el dia, si no desea caminar puede ir a almorzar al restaurante es comida tipica con excelente vista del lugar, ademas la asociacion de la comunidad vende productos naturales: jabones, champu y artesanias.
