I have always been so fascinated about trekking and always wanted to go on one . when I got a chance to do it in mcleod how could I avoid it. I started my journey in the afternoon with my wife and son. we went to the Gallu Devi temple by auto though one can walk upto this temple but my advice would be to take an auto upto this place and then start the upward journey and keep the energy for higher trekking and steep roads ahead. when we were starting our journey a group of students around the age of 10 to 15 years from all over the world were also coming back from triund with their instructors. It was so good to see children taking interest in trekking activities. we started our journey on foot and initially it seem easy but it became tougher as we climbed up. I was having my son in my arms as he was below 2 years. our hotel manager had also advised us not to fancy the trek with baby in arms but we tried. views from the trek were so good and we enjoyed a lot but then my wife also started to feel tired and we had to take many breaks in between. I was so willing to go up and see the top but it was becoming difficult for us and we had to return in the middle of the journey. we met so many people who were coming from the top and described the journey worth going there. Though we couldn't make it to the top but the journey would always remain in my mind as a good trekking experience. My advice will be to start early in the morning from Gallu devi temple and keep storage of water and snacks with you and enjoy this experience to the fullest.

It was very very tough for me. But could make it in the end to the top. stayed there overnight. Food was prepared by one of the shops present on the top of the hill. Good food.

This is one of the most beautiful places in Himachal Pradesh. You will never forget this trekking, if you are really open to be filled with the strong energy that comes from the sacred Himalayan mountains. Highly recommended!

Climbing up Triund was my first trekking experience, and it was a worthy one. It was too tired the moment we reached the hill, i was literally dragged by my friends, but the moment we reached there the view was awe - inspring, the sun was setting and there were golden hues all over the snow. We had to reach down hill the same day so we had to rush back, one can always find staying options up there and i wish we would have. In a nut shell trekking to Triund was a lovely experience.

It was really adventurous to reach Triund from Mcleod. Hill covered with snow and a cool weather. It is dangerous as you should go with your gears. Make sure to take shoes with grip. If going first time prefer going with guide

This is one of the highest treks I've done and one of the longest too. However it was worth all the pain and bruises once you reach on top. The view of the Dauladhar range is mesmerizing... The tea shops on the way are loaded with all maggie, tea, chocolates and Gatorade you need :) An amazing experience that I surely would love to repeat. If possible do try and stay back in one of the tents you can hike on top...

You have to trek to triund to experinece the absolute beauty of snow peak mountains. Situated at 2875 mtrs above sea level, this place is surreal. We started our trek from Mcleod Ganj square which was around 12 km to the peak and took us 3 hrs. Normally people start their trek from Galu devi temple which will take 2 hrs to the peak. The patch from Magic view to Triund peak is the tricky part. There are stalls at the top providing Maggie, juices and eggs. One has to be very careful if you are going around snow time as the descend can be risky. Please take a guide along and try getting down by 3pm.

it takes a while, especially depending on your hiking speed, you can walk from mcleodganj or take a rickshaw to the beginning of the actual trail. Do start in the morning. The whole hike promises great views, at the top there are small makeshift shops that you can buy an egg sandwich, chips and water and all that junk food. It is also possible to rent camping equipment and stay over night at the ridge. From up there you are face to face with the Dauladhar mountain range. Very beautiful indeed.

This trek is great for first timers to get prepared for bigger ones, but experienced ones will also enjoy if they don't compare with others. The route is a single one so don't require a guide. Must have:-> good grip shoes, > walking sticks with spikes, > torches, > plastic bags for protecting cameras, wallets against snow> Vaseline for protection against coldMust start by ~9am to get back on same day else either need to skip partially or plan to stay in camps on top (should make prior arrangements)

The trek is osme...please go well equipped as per the season...I went during the winters and had a tough time as my shoes did not have good grip...came down sliding...though it was fun too...

At first we are unhappy, the surrounding of track is not too good. As we move forward, we found some snow on the way, last 1.5 Km is so adventurous. It is too steep and full cover with snow. After reaching their our mind and body refresh by seeing the amazing beauty of whole dhauladhar rang mountain. it is best trip of my life.

Place is amazing for a weekend getaway! This place is known for trekking .. and Triund offers trekking for beginners. You don't a need guide for this trek, its great to explore on your own. Also the trail is well marked. You will have small tea stalls serving food on the way to Trund. To reach to the Top it takes 4 hours max and you can camp there overnight if you want( carry your camping stuffs along )..otherwise you can come downhill before sunset. So plan accordingly.. You will find people on the way at the tea stalls sharing their stories and experience. Quite insightful! You'll see a lot of cafes serving amazing food in Dharmakot. You can also so do paragliding at Dharmashala as this place is one of the site for International sites for Paragliding. Totally a chilled out place. You'll get home with a feeling of coming back again to experience it . It's addictive !

This is a must do trek for everyone who visits Mcleodganj, There are different start points i.e from Naddi, Bhagsunag and Dharamkot, Recommended start point is Dharamkot as it is easier to climb from here, We were just as lucky to do the trek just after the snowfall and the entire trek was full of snow, We were not able to reach till Triund as there was excess snow and the weather was not favourable, however we reached a little far then the Gallu Devi Temple, However we will go again in the months of March-April.
