When you grow weary of bustling downtown in Sapporo, take a day trip to Arte Piazza in Bibai.It's a bit secluded but queit and peaceful place with impressive sculpture of Kan Yasuda scattered around wonderful green field and a couple of free galleries.Catch a local train, not the expensive Super Kamui Express, from Sapporo station with a only1,070Yen ticket. After an hour trip, you'll arrive at Bibai station and take a leisurely walk to Arte Piazza for an hour and half. You can enjoy the typical rural scenery on the way and also cantake a 200Yen bus on the way back. Don't miss the famous Grilled chicken skewers near Bibaistation, it's only 95Yen(U$1.00) each!

Arte Piazza Bibabi (APB) offers a wonderful opportunity for car travelers driving into or out of Sapporo to slow down and stretch both their legs and minds. It features about a dozen interesting, well-placed pieces by sculptor Kan Yasuda. We enjoyed a fun hour engaged in an "art treasure hunt" amidst the fields, rolling hills, and forests of the park. Kids played in a pool of water adjacent to one of the pieces. APB is positive proof of the spirit-lifting power and appeal of good, accessible art in a beautiful natural setting.

Surrounded by forested hills, this outdoor collection of stunning pieces by Kan Yasuda is well worth a visit for anyone passing through Bibai. Just a few minutes off the highway (Sapporo to Asahikawa) it is very easily accessible. Entry is free. The site includes: numerous outdoor pieces; a collection of art housed upstairs in a quaint old wooden school building; and a pleasant café (in a separate building) with views to the grounds and several art installations. Don't miss climbing to the top of the small hill near the entrance - a surprise awaits those that do.For great art in a beautiful natural setting, don't miss the Arte Piazza at Bibai.

安田の作品が、廃校になった小学校のグラウンドや校舎内に展示された、彫刻公園になっています。周りの風景た彫刻作品がマッチして大変リラックスできる空間になっています。

空の青と自然の緑が心地よい、そんな場所。幼稚園かな？こどもたちの声が聞こえてきて、ほのぼのします。写真が上手に撮れそうなそんな場所です。カフェでまったり、ゆったり過ごせば、また一週間がんばろうって思えるところです。

子供と一緒いきました。興味津々で触ったり登ったりして触れることができました。季節によって外の作品は表情を変えれ魅せてくれます。隣接しているカフェもゆったり自然の中で過ごせます。イタリアの石からできた作品群は見応えありです。

彫刻家安田侃さんの作品と豊かな緑に囲まれて、おいしい空気を共有できる場所。大理石をコツンと彫ったり、丸い作品に横たわって、流れる雲をずっと見ていられる場所。札幌から１時間で来られるからか、平日でも散策してる人びとがいる。それぞれの時間を大切な人とゆったりと共有しているような人たちを見ていると、なんだかほっとする。

草原に作品が点在。木造校舎や人工の川、ちょっとした遊具もあり、こどもも楽しめます。落ち着いたカフェもあり、天気がよければ一日ゆっくり過ごしたい場所です。

夏に行きました。あいにくのお天気だったので次回晴れている時にまた行きたいところです。秋の紅葉シーズンも間違いなく綺麗です。春の桜が咲く頃にもまた行きます！冬の雪景色も綺麗ですが、豪雪なので多少行くのに苦労するかもしれません。1日中ゆっくり過ごしたいところです。ただクマ出没地域です～。

安田侃氏の作品がとても似合う清涼感溢れる場所です。庭にある泉の音にも、魅せられました。子どもたちとのワークショップにぜひ参加してみたいです。趣のある木造の旧小学校も半永久的に残って欲しい。

以前にテレビで見て、ずっといってみたかった場所。あいにくの雨でしたが、時々晴れ間もみられて、すべての作品を見ることができました。想像していたよりももっと素敵で、穏やかな時間の流れている場所でした。ぜひまた訪れたい場所です。

美唄市出身の安田侃さんは、イタリアを拠点としている有名な彫刻家。特に、大理石を使った作品が、自然の中に展示されているのが、この屋外美術館。オススメは夏。旧小学校舎を活用したギャラリーやカフェも素晴らしい雰囲気！

真冬の大自然の中、数分おきに景色が変わり雪の中にある彫刻達も表情を変え、とても神秘的でした。旧校舎内や、体育館内の彫刻も素晴らしのですが、敷地内にあるカフェで、かんじきを借りて圧雪の中を歩きながら作品を探すのも楽しかったです。

大自然の中で彫刻の鑑賞というイメージなので、新緑の季節などが最適と思われがちですが、雪の中の情景もとてもいい感じです。かんじきを借りられるので、未圧雪の場所を散策することも出来、いい体験ができました。
