Mindanao’s first ever Electronic Music Festival of Colours and we were there. One of the Philippine’s biggest summer beach party, Summerfrolic 2014, is presented by FrolicFox and La-ne’s at the Dahican Strip. In the morning, it was time for some personal relaxation and chilling in the beach. The strong Amihan wind compensated for the hot summer sun. It was in the mornings when the beach was safe to dip in. You are 100% visible from others (just in case something happened) and the wind, waves and undertows were not that huge compared to ones in the afternoon.Read more by copying this link to your browser: http://www.adventurestime.net/werwolvz-at-summerfrolic-2014-best-summer-beach-party-at-mati/ Dahican Beach featured video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFhIvCDATbQ
The view is simply breathtaking. The waves are great for skim boarding and surfing. They also offer beginner lessons at a fee. Swim with caution as the water is deep.
Although we did miss the Christmas rush, the beach didappear as being clean and quietin later January.Surely it must have its busy times.Regardless, we were all impressedwith the beach's views and itsquiet simple ways. Many peoplewere posting the sand as beingwhite. I would not say so. Moreor less a light Golden color. We were at Dahican in late Januaryand the waves were perfect forbeginner/intermediate surfers.I would recommend packing food for the day along with yourbeverages as there is next to nothing to accommodate. Which isa treat to keep things quiet andsimple in my opinion.Something tells me that in the nextdecade, this quiet place will be no more. Its too good to be true!
Great beach with free cottages. You can bbq eith 30php/kilo on the 'tindahan' inside the resort/beach. Abit slopy beach and it can get really deep fast. Overall experience was worth it with family and friends especially when you have bbqs.
If you are looking for a chill, laid back beach adventure getaway, then head over to Dahican Surf Resort which is situated in the heart of Dahican beach which offers a pristine view of the fabled beach. Not such a beach-bum? The resort offers skim boarding and surfing lessons (when waves are in season) for Php 150/hour and Php 300/hour with board and surf instructor. You won't have a reason to get bored here because even if the waves are flat, you can also go snorkeling or free diving just in front of the resort. The resort has dorm-type accommodations fit for 5 people. You can also opt to set up tents around the resort area. The place also provides clean common toilet and bath when you want to rinse the saltwater off.For food, they don't have a regular offering of meals for cooking but they do have a dedicated grill area where you can cook your own food, the ultimate island life experience.
I chanced upon Dahican Beach when I traveled to Mati, Davao Oriental on a work visit. I heard about the place from blogger Jojie Alcantara and told myself I had to see the waves for myself. Around 5am, I hopped on a habal-habal and arrived at the beachfront before sunrise. The cove was practically empty save for a handful of children playing at the shore. Surfing boards line up on the shore. The panorama of coconut trees against the mountainous backdrop and creamy sand was perfect. No, it wasn't boracay: no loud music, no party atmosphere, no strings of excursionists... Akin to most beaches in the country, Dahican Beach spells rustic charm and promises weary wanderers of quiet mornings and post-card perfect dawn...
this place was introduce to us by the Governor of Davao Oriental Mrs. Corazon Malanyaon during our visit last Aug 17. wow this is is very interesting. its free of access and free of ussage to all amenities inside. the sand is totally white and so clean. would be back there more and more... to explore the island
Its been awhile since i paid a visit to my hometown Mati and there's no other way to start it better than visit the majestic Dahican Beach. It changed a lot for d better, i mean way better than before. Beach line is better than any other white sand beaches. The waves are still there of course. Just bring our own food and u'll definitely enjoy.
My family and I have gone to several beaches in Mindanao, but nothing compares to Dahican beach. The sands are white and fine, the scenary is a postcard. The waves are fun and marine life a plenty.Did I mention the entrance and day tour is FREE?The only concern is the cottages are first come first served, but then, what do you expect? You can bring your own camping stuff and setup your own area. If you're looking for the best sand and water, you got it. If you're looking for food or other attractions though, you will be disappointed.
just been to dahican, worse experience ever. i got small animal bites from the bed. called <KUTING> and the room we payed for 3 person 4000 per night and not even clean. We stay 2 nights in there and the whole time i don't feel relax. u have to buy your own food cook it your self etc NO restaurant ever. u have to travel to mati city so u can eat. and people are not nice. we we're planning to stay for 1 week cos when we check about the dahican its all nice but when we got there DISAPPOINTED we got. and when u ask hot water you have to pay, your already pay for ugly room and expensive room and u still have to pay for the hot water. everything in dahican is MONEY MONEY MONEY.and one thing if you want to stay in nice resort 1500 per person. and the beach is not same what you saw in website. we try to find the beach what we saw in website but nothing in there. I'm sorry if i say all of this. this is our experience terrible experience. now my whole body is etching a lot cos of small animal bites they said its KUTING.
It was my second trip to Dahican and it is still one of Mindanao's best kept secret. The uncrowded beach that stretches for miles, friendly locals and laid back vibes makes this place one of the best spots to get lost in.
The beach is clean with a nice view, nice place for a leisurely walk. I havent tried surfing but the place is a surfing haven. It can be reached by riding a habal habal from Mati City.
Been to dahican a few times. Brilliant place to relax and unwind. Locals so friendly. Beaches clean sea crystal clear. What else do you need.
Very quiet and beautiful beach. Not many tourists. Good place to relax and just do nothing. Swimming might not be best certain times of the year and day due to the waves but good for surfing.
A natural playground for surfers. Waves are humongous. You better bring your food when goin to this place bec there are no restaurants or cafes around. The only accommodations avail are Botona and Dahican Surf Resort. We opted to rent for a tent at Amihan bec their site offers the best spot for surfing. The sand is very fine although the shore is a bit rocky. They offer surfing lessons for 400 per hr and skim lessons for 150 per hr. This place promises a lot of potential. I am even considering buying a lot here if I have the funds. Lol! I want to thank Kuya Winston and the Amihan boys for taking care of us. You guys are the best!
