Although very much off the beaten path, visiting Israel and Sandra's coffee farm was well worth the long drive. Israel showed us his production process from start to finish and gave us an appreciation for the care taken into making the beans. He then took us into his house and let us try a cup of his coffee with some of his chocolates. The tour was a very warm and welcoming experience, I highly recommend it! Be sure to pick up some of his coffee and chocolates to take home!

Israel welcomed us to his farm and home! This man is passionate about his coffee plantation and other farming ventures including ginger and turmeric. Their ecolodge, offering a true escape, is almost complete. The tour is very informal, showing the basics of coffee farming, harvesting and processing. Very much tailored to the visitor. After seeing how coffee is roasted, Israel invited us into his home to share a taste the final product. The view from the veranda is amazing!!We did not have the opportunity to meet Sandra, who is the genius behind their coffee infused chocolate offering. Not to be missed!The road to Sandra Farms is a bit challenging, but well worth the drive. Our visit to Sandra Farms was one of the highlights of our trip!

We spent a week on the coast. My girlfriend wanted to see the interior of Puerto Rico and myself being a hobbyist coffee roaster, we thought a tour of a coffee farm would be a great way to round out our vacation. The farm is a bit precarious to find however when we did Israel opened his welcome arms. After a cup of coffee we were given a tour by Carmelo which reached way beyond a sales pitch to purchase their coffee. Carmelo is a passionate guide who blends history, the biodynamic aspect of the farm itself and the bounty beyond coffee that it produces, plus the future vision for the farm that I am convinced can renew hope for humanity in even the biggest cynic. Go expecting an hour and a half tour, however ours lasted four hours so plan accordingly.

Found Sandra Farms on Trip Advisor. We took our grandson from Cleveland, OH today. Carmelo gave the tour. His life is fascinating and his love of the land all things coffee is inspiring. Israel and Sandra hosted us for a cup of their smooth coffee and delicious chocolate. Great people. Great tour. A must for anyone in Puerto Rico. Suggest you ask them about the retreat house they are finishing. Coffee, chocolate, nature, peace and quiet. Something you rarely find in one place!

We had a wonderful time with Carmelo, Israel, and Sandra! We got to see every step of the process of making coffee and even got to enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee with even better company on the balcony of the family's home. We are looking forward to visiting again on our next trip! I highly recommend making a stop by Sandra Farms on your trip in Puerto Rico, it was well worth the drive from San Juan!

This family owned hacienda and small specialty coffee operation is a labor of love for Israel and Sandra And those who help them. Detours due to road construction delayed our arrival but they were gracious and welcoming. We received a tour of the process then retired to the covered porch for refreshments. The coffee which was spectacular was rivaled by the hospitality. After a cloud forest shower the sun was low in the sky when we departed. I'm so glad we found you! We will be re-ordering online and who knows, we might return for a retreat!

Sandra, Isreal, and Carmelo were perfect hosts to there absolutely beautiful coffee farm.The coffee is delicious and well worth the trip coming here!

If you are looking for a personal, family experience, Sandra Farm is for you. Carmelo's was informative, friendly and passionate about his adventurous job. After learning about the coffee, touring the grounds, eating the fruit of the land and laughing, we settled on the immaculate, covered porch to ingest the panoramic views. They rival those seen on any scenic tourist stop. Israel and Sandra treated us to wonderful REAL coffee (like none other) and allowed us to taste their newest gem: chocolates! Wished we could've stayed all day!

We spent a beautiful day in the mountains. Carmelo was our tour guide and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. It wasn't only the coffee but we saw and ate all types of fruit that grow there. The farm has beautiful flora. Must visit!

We planned a day in the town of Adjuntas and choose this place in the morning. What a pleasant experience. Mr. Israel owner and his wife Sandra showed great hospitality. Israel had many stories to tell. We spend 2.5 hours hearing good stories and experiencing one of a kind view from the family's terrace. We closed the experience with a excellent home made coffee and Sandra's own dark chocolate nuggets with inner crispy bean, a Sandra's specialty, delicious. Make sure to call in advance to ensure couple could receive you. Don't forget to purchase some good coffee and dark chocolate before leaving.

Spent a wonderful afternoon at Sandra Farm. To get to the farm is an adventure due to its remote location in the mountains but once you arrive, it's worth every bit of it. Once there you're warmly greeted by the owners and you feel like family within minutes. Setting is picture perfect with 180° mountain views. The coffee and the chocolates are awesome. Go with plenty of time to spare. $15 per adult, children and elderly free.

Probably could just say "same as all the other great reviews", but I wanted to contribute my own experience regardless as it was so fun. We ended up at Sandra Farms after running into a guy (Malcolm?) in Rincon that spoke so highly of Sandra Farms and the owners, and so did TripAdvisor as I looked before setting up the tour. So we scrapped the idea of touring a larger PR coffee brand for Sandra Farms as we like to do the word of mouth less known experiences. Couldn't say enough about how great this was. Within minutes Carmelo already felt like some long time friend of ours. Everything he showed us and informed us about he did with great passion where it didn't feel like anything I'd even call a tour. From the amazing variety of fruits and plants on the premises, to of course the entire coffee growing, picking, roasting process, it was so perfect. I learned so much more than I ever had known previously about coffee, Puerto Rico, and even fruit. And of course everything there is done in such small quantities, 'green' and pure artesian ways it's all the better. Great for any coffee nerd and/or anyone that just enjoys hearing artisans speak of their passions. So after great time with Carmelo, hearing stories not only about Sandra Farms, but also some side conversations about his life and experiences, we would've been great there, but.... then we got to go to the house and have some coffee. Not just have some, but hang out with Sandra, Israel Israel's bother and a few others were. We all just hung out on the patio with a priceless view, sipped on some coffee, tested some of their new chocolates they are now working on, etc. So if Carmelo seemed like a long lost friend showing you around, Sandra and Israel seemed like a long lost aunt and uncle that just happen to own an amazing coffee farm in PR. They seemed about as interested in hearing about us as we did their coffee and them. Just a great time hanging out, coffee cups never running low, tasting some of their new chocolate and etc. And you can't beat the price of $0 for all that as I would've paid good money for such an experience :)And onto the coffee itself....Wife and I did end up dropping some money on 5 bags of their beans, and some chocolates. (which they sold at wholesale so it's a great price). We gave one to her (coffee nerd) sister and she raved about it so my wife already ordered more online. And another bag to a friend who is even a bigger coffee snob/nut that has lived in PR on/off for 5+ years so he knows his PR coffee. His favorite is Alto Grande brand and has it shipped to Minnesota when here so you know he's serious. Well he had Sandra Farms coffee this morning for the first time, emailed me, and let me quote him "holy momma that's good stuff". So I might've just found him his new favorite. And if you just can't make it there, but happen to stop through Rincon, stop by Banana Dang's for a cup of Sandra Farms coffee as they serve it there. (Banana Dang's will have to be another review as that place is awesome too).Only note I'd have for visitors is to make sure you have more than enough time to get there, and you know for sure where you are going. Of course it's a remote location in the mountains so it's a bit easy to miss turns if you aren't paying 100% attention. Again, couldn't say enough about how great this way. For sure one of the top highlights of our 12 days running around Puerto Rico.

My boyfriend and I took a tour of Sandra Farms Coffee. Carmelo showed us around the facility even though it was late, and treated us to their wonderful coffee and chocolates. The tour was very interesting, and the coffee was delicious. The owner's house is gorgeous and the views are spectacular! Anyone who is interested in learning more about the coffee picking, selection, and roasting process will love this tour.
