Despite being located at the east tip of the island you get full fantastic views of the sunset. Beautiful spot to observe great views of the ocean and nearby cliffs.

The windy coastline drive from Humacoa to this site was worth the trip. You'll need to pay close attention to your GPS to find this little gem, but stick with the effort. You will park at the entrance to the closed Lighthouse grounds, then hike the 0.3 miles down to the Punta Tona Beach. The views of the lighthouse and waves crashing on shore from this nearly empty beach made for a rare experience along any coastline.

A must see place if you are near by. The views from the lighthouse are amazing!!! The Lighthouse is not open to the public, you can only visit it surrounding areas.

I usually go once a year since I discovered it. Got to go up the light house once. It not that popular which make it more unique. You have the amazing view of the contrasts of the mountain and the water even when you are driving there. The beach is not classified as swimming. But the water is great but had rough waves and no life guard be careful. But the view it breath taking.

We visited the lighthouse and were able to walk the grounds and see the spectacular views from the cliff where the lighthouse is situated. However, it is sad to see that it is in need of extensive repairs.

The sights from this point are awesome and postcard deserving. Lighthouse is closed and you must sight seen on your own, but is worth the trip. Make sure you walk down to the nearby beach. Is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 8 to 3:30. Come and visit Maunabo.

Punta Tuna in Maunabo also known as Faro de Punta Tuna, built in 1892, was the last lighthouse station on the island to be inhabited by the U.S. Coast Guard until just a few years ago. You could then visit it through the station, but the interior of it has been closed by the USCG due to lead contamination. You can walk the grounds most days thru access from the town of Maunabo. There are several points to photograph it up close as well as from a distance along the road between Maunabo and Patillas or Yabucoa. Additionally there is a vantage point on the beach near Road 7760, south of Maunabo.
