I don't know if this qualifies as a review, but I suppose all experiences are valued by potential visitors! The prison's website said opening hours were from 10am-4pm daily. When we arrived (from Quebec) at 1:30pm, we found the doors locked. We were extremely disappointed to find out (the next day by telephone) that they only open sporadically. The Thursday we arrived, the opening hours were 10am until noon. When I suggested to the gentleman that he should have the website updated since it stated (to this day Nov. 15th 2014) that the hours were 10am-4pm, his response was "oh, that's still there?"...not really seeming to care. Like I said, very disappointing. I suggest anyone who wants to visit should call first. Note that they only take cash as well. I don't know when we'll be back in the area, so I can't say we'll visit any time soon.

The food is fresh and the portions amble. There are very healthy salads and the coffee was also very good.

Lots of history to be seen here. So many informative posters! A truly haunting place to consider what has happened between the walls of this historic place!

Es war auch für die Kinder sehr interessant. Man konnte div. Zellen besichtigen und die Räume des Wachpersonals.

Agréable visite très bien guidée, petit musée sur les conditions de détention du siècle dernier, notre guide était vraiment très bonne et a rendue la visite très intéressante - avoir si vous passez dans ce charmant petit village de l'ontario
