Genny and George are great hosts and guides and run a family oriented kayak, stand up paddle boards and canoe rental place on the South Branch of the Rideau River in Kemptville just off Hwy 416. If you are a beginner, this is a great and safe place to start. If you are an experienced kayaker, you can challenge yourself to paddle all the way up to the Rideau River and beyond. Wildlife is plentiful and I have seen my share of herons, turtles, otters and even a beaver. Motorized boat traffic is low to non existent most of the time.They also have Paddle Fit classes and organized trips. After paddling, I usually drop by Brewed Awakenings for a Chai Latte. I find an hour paddling is very relaxing and therapeutic.
