The self guided tour. Allowing the look into the past and realizing how much the Signal Corps contributed to the entire energy system. Line trucks for example, they developed and built these. The museum is under an expansion phase and will be double the size for 2015.
I have been many times to this museum. It is an awesome place to visit to learn about Canadian Military Communications. The displays are fantastic. If you have children, they will love it. Alot to see and it's free.
Very interesting place to see all the exhibits. It worth the time to look back on technology that our forefathers used to keep our freedom. It even had exhibits from recent conflicts that Canada had contributed to. Makes you proud to be Canadian. Go see it if your a true Canadian.
this is a one of a kind museum. if you have any interest at all in the history of electronics, communications, computers, etc this is the place for you
I've been in Kingston so many times but this was my first visit in the Museum....what a great surprise...too bad we didn't have enough time to browse in.....will come back for sure...must stop if you pass by.
We been here many times and last week we stopped in to buy stuff at the gift shop. The young soldiers greeting us at front door was a very nice touch
The museum was very interesting. It was a donation fee entrance and had no tours, so be prepared to read and explore. It's a must for anyone who likes to understand military professions and their history. Kit shop available.
I enjoyed seeing the displays, especially the replica of a POW cell. Lots of old electronics to look at, and much more. Worth a visit. Entry by donation.
You may think this is all about communications but you will see a lot more than that if you take a few minutes to visit this museum which is located on the base in CFB Kingston.
This Museum is huge and highly interactive. The entire family will appreciate it! The displays are chronological and reveal the history of military communications in a fascinating and interactive way. Big parking lot. Admission is free.
This Museum offers both self guided and tour guides. A unique insight into the development of modern military communications. You can also see the adaption of military electronics into civilian life. eg. The linesmen trucks we see operated by all power companies. There is no admission as such but a donation box near the exit / entrance.
expected to be there for a hour or so and ended up over two. Very well displayed often in life like displays. Walked you through the changes and evolution of the Military Communications.... well worth the visit.
If your interested in military history this is where to go. Updated, clean and well designed. free admission and parking. Not well known so it is unlikely to be crowed
A great museum with military communications displays from the Boer War to the conflict in Afghanistan. The Vimy display is very well done and a nice place for quiet reflection. Free admittance, but a donation to the Museum at the entrance is the right thing to do. A fantastic gift shop for military momentos, prints, and accoutrements. Enjoy!
Graet place to waste an hour or two, Lots of parking and the entry price is right, free. The curator knows his stuff and had lots to say
