homewood museum

Homewood is a beautiful historic home. In fact, it is the oldest home in Ontario. We have visited it twice, both on lovely summer afternoons. The grounds are large, quiet, rural and pretty - a perfect place for an impromptu picnic. The inside of the house has been well-maintained and nicely tells the story of the Jones family who built it. It would be nice to see the second story opened up to visits, but surely, that would take more funding. The tour guides are both volunteers and students and their love for the building certainly shines through.
