We usually visit Merrickville once each year when we are in the area. In the past we have found wonderful mustards to bring home -- some great linens on special -- even some interesting kitchen gadgets. But this year we found that there was really nothing new.And -- as per every other year (over 6 years) -- the staff is very unfriendly. No hello -- can I help you -- thanks for coming in. Odd for a tourist town retailer.

Mrs. McGarrigle's offers a huge range of imported condiments, ingredients and clever kitchen gadgets - and of course their own line of wonderful mustards and chutneys.

Thanks for your kind review! Try mixing the lemon dill mustard with a little melted butter and capers for a simple quick sauce for grilled fish or smoked salmon. Hope to see you again soon on your next trip to the area!

Our store hours are 9:30-6 every day, and until 7pm on Fridays, and we only close three days a year (Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year's Day), so I am puzzled as to why you chose to complain about store hours in your review of our store. We cannot compete with Food Basics on ethnic ingredients, but this is an extremely small fraction of our inventory, which we carry as a convenience to locals and Thai/Indian cooking class participants in-store. We proudly feature our own store-made mustards, chutneys and vinaigrettes. We also showcase many excellent local producers & offer them our venue to demo and introduce their products to our customers. We focus on customer service, and quality, difficult to source specialty foods and kitchenware at competitive prices.

This is a very unique store in Merrickville and sells a wide variety of specialty foodstuffs. Their mustards are excellent and you can try before you buy. Well worth a visit.

I love the variety of British products available at Mrs. McGarrigle's (especially the Jaffa cakes!). There is also a great selection of homemade cheeses and a variety of pesto's, mustard's and other delicatessens. The staff are always pleasant and the location is great for a little day trip from the Ottawa or Ogdensburg area.

Spices, mixes, unique items. Great selection of "not-found-at-your-grocery-store" items!Thanks for the garlic mashed seasoning as well as the veggie-dip seasoning!!
