Have played this course at least six times in the previous years and decided to go again this year based on good rate from Golf Now.The green's were a little rough as compared to previous outings. Although many courses have this problem after the bad winter we just endured. The price was a little high at $40 with cart because you could play a much better Whirlpool - Niagara Parks course for $49, which is a much better value. This course has some very nice holes with rolling hills and elevation changes.
We live 5 minutes away from this beautiful, scenic course. I usually golf at Sparrow lakes, another great course, but my fiancé bought us a round+cart for my birthday and this course is one of his favourites. Because it has been so rainy, we expected to find puddles and we did. Fairway was we'll maintained but greens were higher bc of the rains we've had. Each hole was different and I found them challenging without being impossible. We paired up with Bruce and Gina, lovely couple with great skill. After 9 we decided it was still too wet, owner offered us voucher for 9+cart to be used anytime. Quick lunch of BBQ sausage and burger was fresh and tasty. Got busier when we were leaving with golfers eager to finally get out there. Will definitely go back!
OMG !!! how this place stays in business. The condition of this golf course is far worse than my front lawn.Terrible course, arrogant staffs ... perfect combo !!!
I was so excited to golf here this year on our annual company golf game, granted there is only four of us, but a free round of golf on the boss is always something to look forward to. When I heard we were going to get to go to pelham hills, I was even more excited as I hadn't been there before and had heard great things. But to make a long story short, we were not allowed to play for a numerous amounts of fallible reasons. One person in our group was wearing jeans, therefore we were not following dress code which is not stated on there website or golfnow when you book a tee time, not to mention that neither I is had ever been there, and would one person in jeans ruin there reputation, apparently it would. Then he lied about not being able to fit us in even though we were able to book a tee time online at golf now. The pro shop attendant was not accommodating at all, and made sure he could come up with any excuse for us to not enjoy our company golf day. We left are were welcomed with open arms at sparrow lakes just down the road. I will never again go to pelham hills, and I'll be sure to spread the word of the rude non existent customer service.
On our way to Port Colborne, we stopped to play at Pelham Hills. The skies were ominous with dark grey clouds, and we had driven through more than one deluge of rain, so were unsure if we'd get a round in. The clubhouse was very accommodating, though, telling us to head out and see how many holes we could get in before committing to paying - nice! By the 3rd hole it was raining hard - we waited it out under a tree, as did several other golfers on various holes nearby. Soon, the rain was gentle, and then totally stopped, so we were able to play the full 18 holes. The course is well laid out, and a park-like setting, with some challenging holes. It is well maintained, but doesn't have the lush velvety fairways of the nearby Niagara course. However, it plays very nicely, thank you, and we really enjoyed our round. I'd play there again, hoping for no rain interruption the next time.
