Had our wedding here and was a great experience. Such aquaint place to be married. Perfect for small weddings to 60 people, and a great price too! Highly recommend for smaller weddings. The curator even dresses up in 1700's garb and greeted the arriving guests. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no electricity in this church. We used an Ipad and a blue tooth battery powered speaker, perfect for the size of the church!
My folks, nephews and I visited The Blue Church on our way back from Upper Canada Village. Peaceful spot and interesting reading (the headstones in the surrounding cemetary). Learned a lot.
Stop.... don't just drive by. Enjoy the old tombstones and their history.
It has existed since the 1800's to serve the few parishioner 's from the area but was eventually closed because of the proximity of larger church congregations nearby. It is very small inside with a podium and organ (not working) at the front of the church and maybe five or six pews on each side. The church is normally not open except for special occasions like a wedding or some other type of function. We have driven past it numerous times when out for a drive but when they were participating in Doors Open Ontario we finally were able to see inside.
A quaint church steeped in local history. Check out the tombstones too.
Very small church with historic plaque, though present structure does not seem to have any real history associated with it despite its age (built in 1845). Very nice churchyard with some interesting early Victorian vintage monuments.
