A wonderful escape right in the heart of SSM. All seasons are lovely but trail is not maintained in winter although enough foot traffic to pack down the snow. The expansive bridges across ravines are worth the walk and the scenery is as indicated in title "breathtaking".
The new and improved Fort Creek is wonderful for those that love to walk, hike or bicycle. Many trails to follow. The main trail which connects with the Hub Trail is long but beautiful. Expect a few hours of walking.
Nice trails , not very well maintained though. Great place to go for a walk and see the fall colors. Or go in the spring and feed the bugs.
The spectacular 24 kilometer paved walking/biking Hub Trail in Sault Ste. Marie goes through the Fort Creek Conservation area which has beautiful scenery. There are two steel bridges over the deep gorges of Fort Creek which give you a panoramic view of the area. This section is 2.5 kilometers and has serene, picturesque, wooded areas. Free parking is available off the Second Line entrance to the conservation area. We regularly walk and bike the Hub Trail and thoroughly enjoy the beauty of it.
Lived in the Sault all my life and never been to this area. I ended up here geocaching one day and was amazed at all the trails and beauty in this area. Lots of little trails off the main ones- absolutely breathtaking in the winter and awesome snowshoeing...
The best part of the hub trail for biking and walking goes through here and one can even see active beavers doing their thing.
the kiddies love to go walking and cycling here at fort creek. It is nice that they try to host some activities there as well.
I've loved this place since i was a little kid. It's like a little bit of nature in the middle of the city, a retreat close to home. Perfect for group walks, dog walking, hiking, snowshoeing, an more!
Only a short distance west of the Great Northern Road motel strip on Second Line West is this suprisingly beautiful conservation area with both paved and unpaved trails on both sides of the lake. And it is spectacular to walk around in the fall with its colour changes of leaves. The paved trail is made easier by modern bridges. Take along your camera and enjoy a break from your motel room.
