Beautiful day on Saturday Jan 17/15...Hadn't been to Purden since last season...powder was fresh and light, some runs have had some clearing done recently thus are a little more open. Prices have increased significantly since I was out last. So much so that I will drive to Powder King next time. I would suggest bringing all drinks and food from home, they must helicopter their supplies in rather than drive them the 45 minutes from town because the cafeteria prices are priced for 300-350% profit...no kidding! plate of fries $14? chocolate bar $3.50? Costco looking blueberry muffin and small orange juice $7.00? How do you spell Gouge!? Lift ticket for 1 adult $60...It's along ways from whistler in geography and ski ranking, but not far in price..Glad to have the extra new urinal in the bathroom though, still not worth it...
Overall a great skiing experience. Purden was the first place I ever skied, and it was quite alright! The prizes were little high compared to surrounding areas but it is close to Prince George.
Lots of fresh snow and great spring break skiing. The best skiing around without the expense of driving down south.
Of the ski hills around Prince George Purden is by far the worst. At the ticket window you pay for a pass that priced in line with a hill twice the caliber of Purden and then to add insult to injury if you plan on buying a lunch you are taken for another ride as the prices in the restaurant are crazy as well. Also making matters worse Purden dosnt even except things like the fifth grade snowpass (the only hill in the area that dosnt take it) Most of the time you pay full price but only one of the 2 lifts run. I could go on but the bottom line is that Purden is terrible.
45 minutes from Prince George, Purden is a hidden jem with 2 chair lifts and a t-bar for the kids. Plenty of hill and powder for everyone. Always a great day at Purden.
a great place to ski. the lifts are fairly fast and view is amazing. It is a little pricey but very good ski conditions usually. The staff is friendly and helpful as welll.
Have skied here numerous times in recent years and nothing really changes. Grooming is poor and value for dollar is about the same. Over priced for what is offered and frankly, it's annoying when this hill has two chairlifts but only one is operational at the beginning of each day. Tabor is smaller but offers better rates, grooming and closer to Prince George. Better yet, save your money and head to Jasper instead. Purden has a loyal following from the locals who own cabins on the hill but for everyone else, there are other great options within 4 hrs of PG.
After fresh snow this place is great, without recent snow it's still good but there is a bit of a lack of tree runs where there's hidden pockets of untracked powder. No line ups gives more time for skiing and boarding. The ramp from the Baker chairlift is a bit hard to come off and could need a little revamp.
This is an overpriced hill. Not much fall line skiing and grooming leaves much to be desired. The rate is way out of line for the quality of the hill and facilities. The ski rentals are well managed and the ski patrol is top notch.
