I did the AST 1 course with Tim and Mitch as the guides. Found the course to be very thorough and well run! After speaking to others who has taken their course with other companies, it certainly sounds like I got the best training for an AST1 course!I highly recommend these guys as they are really knowledgeable, and their passion for what they do really shines through! I had a great time and would highly recommend this course. Thanks again! Ina

Awesome day spent learning how to tackle gnarly tree runs and steep off-piste terrain. Highly recommend it to anyone! A shame the alpine wasn't open, but overall great day skiing with the friendliest instructors! two thumbs up!

If you are looking to do some serious off-piste in Whistler then go with EC. The guides are first rate and very knowledgeable. The pricing is more than reasonable. Thoroughly recommend.

I love the Extremely Canadian Steeps Clinic. I've done it twice, once last season and then again just a few weeks ago. The guides are AMAZING. They're all true locals, and know so many secret stashes that you would probably never even think to go. They all love skiing and Whistler Blackcomb and it really shows. They're also pretty good at pushing you out of your comfort zone which I love. I skied some stuff I would have found scary on my own but it turned out was totally doable, and what's more, fun!! I've had a blast both times I've done this course and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone planning on coming up to WB soon. Especially in the current conditions, having a seasoned pro show you where good skiing can still be found is key.

I did 5 days off piste skiing with them. Two 2 day courses and an extra day on my own. Great bunch of guys, really enjoyable. They start off with a quick test to establish your ability and group and then off you go. My largest group was 4 people.Even though the snow was terrible they did find some good pitches and plenty of exciting skiing. Without them I would have been scrabbling around wondering where to go.At the end of the two day courses they take you to the pub and buy you lots of drinks, perfect! If you have skied in France it is a similar skiing to ESF's Grand Tour, but friendlier.

This is a MUST DO when I visit Whistler, the first time I wanted to improve my skiing and open up more of the mountain, after that first experience I keep coming back to learn and explore more. The coaches are the best, been there and done that but their easy going approach makes it a relaxed 2 days, in small same ability groups they are able to focus on what you need to get you into places you never thought were an option, by coaching techniques and approaches to suit the conditions. The coaches do it because they love it, the customers keep coming back because they must too, I know on one annual ski trip I'll never be any thing approaching their skill / ability but it has given me far more fun and confidence in the mountains.

I took the 2.5 day AST 1 course with Extremely Canadian Jan 9-11, 2015. It was excellent. The information was well presented and very interesting. I'm an avid backcountry user that felt the need for some certification. The guides were very organized and the days were fun. I will be signing up for the upcoming AST 2 with Extremely Canadian. I would recommend this course to all that enjoy the mountains!

Derek from Extremely Canadian was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, only pushing me just enough and providing invaluable tips to get me down the steeps safely. By the end of the two day clinic I was skiing with so much more confidence and ready to tackle more. Thanks guys, you do an awesome job with a great balance of tuition and just getting out for some terrific skiing. I would definitely recommend the clinic to anyone interested in challenging themselves and learning some really helpful tricks to make off piste skiing a lot more enjoyable.

I went on an awesome backcountry tour with Extremely Canadian. Simon, our guide, was knowledgeable and took us to some great slopes to ski down even on a pretty horrible day. Be aware though its a physically taxing day - get fit first to make the most of it!

Got a group of Snowboarders together to do a 1 day Steeps Clinic and had THE most amazing time. We got lucky with tons of snow the night before and our instructor made the most of it, taking us to loads of random hidden spots with fresh powder, even into late afternoon. Just the right mix of giving us tips on our stance, gear set up etc; working on technique on both groomers and off piste plus exploration - mixing up bowls, tree runs. Finally got to do the mini hike up Spanky's ladder that none of us had the confidence to do before and did our first double black out which was my key aim! We were all a little worried about our ability levels for a ‘Steeps’ clinic but turned out fine – challenged but never uncomfortable and our instructor was great on picking out the best lines for us to follow down the steeper, narrower sections and giving hints on how to approach tougher area’s (and how to spot a lurking rock!). We did some video analysis on the mountain at end of day so really interesting to see from the other side – picked up my stance, turning and alignment issues the instructor had given me hints about earlier. These clinics are a whole step up from your usual lesson so def recommend for anyone who wants to push themselves a little and really get the most out of their time, think I saw and progressed more in one day than would do in an entire week’s hol!

We got a group together and tried the snowboarding clinic. Our instructor Dahj was excellent, gave us the confidence to try things we'd never done before. Found us some amazing powder on the mountain and gave us some feedback on our riding technique and things to work on. He knew the mountain so well and exactly where to go, gave us pointers on other places to try next time. You dont have to be a highly skilled snowboarder, just willing to give anything a go in a safe (but sometimes a lil scary) environment. Its all about pushing yourself, you'll be so proud you did it!

I am a pretty normal level 5-6 skier, who likes going off-piste and doing more challenging runs, without trying to kill myself. With some nervousness, I booked a 2-day steeps clinic with the goal of skiing a double-black, any one, at Whistler. I got Chad as my instructor and was assigned in a group of 4 people of similar ability. Chad is as gentle and patient as his skiing is extreme. I lost count of how many double-blacks we skied over the two days and I think one was even rated a triple black (Bushrat). It was exciting, fun, challenging, scary at times and absolutely worth every cent. It has taken my skiing and confidence to a new level. I now understand fully WHY you need to do pole plants accurately in the proper manner. Chad picked up that my poles were too long, which improved my pole plants and body positions further. He drilled us in survival techniques for skiing out of difficult spots, with lots of side-skidding drills and really focusing on our balance. Coming out of garnet bowl from Spanky's ladder, the narrow chute we followed him on had a sudden, unmarked 4ft drop with no warning or possible way of avoiding (the track was the width of a snowboard plus about 6 inches) and we all landed perfectly flat on the base of our feet before we even knew what happened to us. That is the kind of skill that he imparted before we went onto the hard stuff. Cannot rave about these guys enough if you want to be adventurous and go a bit more off piste. These two days are the best two days skiing I have ever had. Can't wait to go back and book it again. Thanks so much Chad!

I have had the opportunity to go out for private single day lessons in the past, this year I committed to the 3 day steep camp. I have never been more impressed by their guides, a seamless blend of instructor, mentor, coach and psychologist. I like to think that I am a strong skier, I ski 80-100 days a year, tour on top of that. Over the 2 days, i learnt that I had to unlearn many aspects of what I thought worked. Steve was very insightful, his analogies were individualized and the way he skis so fluidly makes me want to aspire to that level. The video analysis is great. When do you ever get to see yourself ski and get critiqued by frame and had your technique dissected. Bottom line, if you are a strong skier with aspirations, this is the best decision you will make. It will change your perspective, increase your confidence and make you more efficient. I can't wait to do it again next year. Lift line priority is great too, more time skiing, less time waiting Also a key note, we started as a mixed group of abilities but they really went to town with separating groups into their respective levels. "Extreme" means very difference things to many people, extremely canadian gets that. Steve, the way you ski, incredible Thank you for changing my perspective. Bottom
