My husband and I went for massages - $133 each! While nice, it wasn't at all worth that amount, nor was it the best massage we've ever had (which we hoped for at that price!) There isn't a clear map/layout for the pools, which we found aggravating, as we didn't want to wander around in the freezing cold looking for a warm pool. The bath robes weren't very big either - if you have a chest and hips it doesn't fit very well! Very pretty area and view. Customer service was great.
Hi, Thank you very much for your comment we really appreciate it.
We appreciate your comments and wish to inform you that the site is divided in two sections, one where silence is mandatory and another section where conversations are allowed. We have at that time of the year 2 accesses to the river opened. We have another changing room for women in another building. We would be really pleased to show you the full possibilities that the Polar Bear's offers on your next visit. In the hope to welcome you again, we remain at your serviceThe Polar Bear's Club Team
I was there with my friend last weekend, bought a coupon from "Tuango" so we can try it.From the reception the welcoming wasn't there, very cold people, didn't offer a tour of the spa like they offered someone before us (paying full price),so then we had to find our way around the many stairs up and down...the baths not so good, jacuzzi not hot enough and not enough jets, water was dirty in all of them, not enough lounge chairs for all the people there, people leaving their towels all over the place; you couldn't really relax because you can hear the cars over the highway in front of you! The access to the river, small and no chairs to seat on and enjoy the sound of the water. We wanted to eat something but to my surprise they didn't have like a "bistro" in the house to prepare fresh food , only a small fridge in the lobby with disgusting pre-packed sandwiches that i would never buy. By the way the reception area very small, no couches or chairs to wait on.At the end, we were leaving and my friend was asking me which way to go, so a very rude employee passing by told her to "shut it "(not exactly the words but almost) and then when she saw we were leaving she turned her back on us, like "good riddance). So from my point of view don't waist your money going there, just go on the other side at Bagni Spa, smaller but very nice and cozy, good service( they serve your sandwiches fresh made at the tables near the river if you want), clean and relaxing !
2nd time there and will most probably try other facilities before going back again.Parking was full, they have 3 parking locations, so it was a beautiful day which meant it would be very busy.Women's bathroom/locker facility was ok. 2 bathrooms, 2 showers.2 hot tubs were out of order and being repaired. One thing I did like is your not allowed to reserve chairs, so there is someone who walks the grounds removing towels if you are not in your seat/chair/lounge chair. So other can get to sit down.Relaxing place, you also have a hot tub where you can wisper away at the far end for those who find it hard to be quiet.
Great place to relax and enjoy nature. personnel very helpful and polite. Will return in a heart beat!
It was my third time and probably the last! Me and my wife were wondering what was the main reason these people were there. It was over crowdy and noisy and no staff to keep the keep the peace. The equipement are ok and the place is nice. Young single or cougars are out of theire cage!
Spa outdoor, near snow, within 38°C... just great !Amazing area, perfect service and greatfull place to be for relaxing!
Lots of hot tubs some with waterfalls and one with a grotto by flowing natural river. Tall pines and mountain background five minutes from St. Sauveur. Large steam sauna and at least two dry saunas. Bring your robes, flip flops, towels, lock and water bottle. Lots of stairs, so be careful when walking around. Spend four hours soaking. Just 40 minutes north of Montreal.
The Polar Bear Spa is a great facility located in Laurentian Mountains. It sits on a riverbank and as far as the dry saunas are concerned it has just the right temp. We have seen it go up to 230 degrees. Seven to ten minutes in there and then jump right into the ice water, the river is steps away. Great place for sure. The steam rooms are so so. There is also a small hotel, but the rooms are $250 + per night. However, access to the facilities is probably included and that is around $100 for two people, so sometimes it makes sense.
Yes we knew that we were close to roads and the street noise could be heard...but this nice little SPA had all we needed. Used to bigger SPA's we were pleasantly surprised by this establishment! The staff is friendly and helpfull! It was a Thursday and bonus for us Ladie's Day at a special rate! We did not know in advance but you can get 2 for one vouchers in nearby stores and it does apply for the Ladie's Day on Thursdays, well next time! Because we will be back! The place was not crowded and we enjoyedour stay even more!At the end the noise was there from the roads nearby, but the calming effect from the pools and sun we had that day was worth it!
My boyfriend and I recently revisited the Polar Bear's Club nordic spa on Monday, June 3rd, 2013 for a much needed day of relaxation having used our Tuango vouchers. To our surprise, we were told if we wanted to, we could also add a 1 hour massage for an additional price of only $67 each instead of the usual $120+ each! It's too bad we hadn't planned our time better in advance because at that price it was really tempting! As we have been to this spa in the past, we were very pleased to have learned this time around that they have since FINALLY renovated their long-overdue and horribly outdated bathrooms...which has significantly reduced the stress of "having to wait in line for the only 1 not so pleasant shower". The new bathrooms are very inviting and help to finish off a relaxing day in the spa, yay! It's too bad they can't build a sound barrier wall to block the noise and view of the big highway though. We enjoyed having access to the variety of baths, eucalyptus steam room etc...however, this time, the water temp of the hot baths seemed somewhat "off" and inconsistent, but in the end still good. Compared to other nordic spas which are further away from the highway and deeper "in nature" Polar Bear Club still provides many of the elements required to help achieve relaxation. We'll be back! :)
