Check your timings if you want to visit this park. We arrived in September to a park with the dam closed, so no waterfalls. It's a place you would stop if you are passing rather than somewhere worth making a special trip to.
Parc des Chutes is a must stop if you are driving from Ontario to the Maritimes! It's the perfect distance for a longer stop and it wonderful for adults, kids and dogs alike to stretch their legs! I would always make this a stop along our drive! The trails are VERY very well marked and there are a wide variety of colour coded trials through the park ranging from some smaller loops taking only about 15 minutes, to longer loops (or doing several of the trails together) taking up to an hour +! It's perfect for everyone! My dog absolutely loved it! I think it was the highlight of the whole road trip for her ;) And I really enjoyed the beautiful trails and seeing the waterfall as well! There are public washrooms here as well, and parking is free.
Nice hiking trails. Very well kept. At least 4 km to explore. Super clean. Bathrooms avail. RecommendedA++++++++++++
Free parking which was a nice surprise. Just stayed a very short time but would have been nice to pack a lunch and have a picnic here.
The bridge above the waterfall is an exciting experience. The park and the big bridge is beautiful and worth the visit.
Located in the downtown area of the city, this park offers multiple trails in ans around the site. We did all the trails last year and it took us about 2 hours. Many photo spots so bring a camera. You can google for trail and find maps. Worth the visit if you are in the area.
I went to see the falls and decided to set out for a walk. The trails are well maintained and very clearly marked. I am of average fitness and managed the red route easily in 40 minutes (as opposed to the 60 minutes they quote) I felt very safe walking on my own on a Sunday afternoon, and met maybe 8 people out walking the same route.I highly recommend this
Went for a walk along the trail. Everything is well marked, mature trees, fantastic views! A great way to spend a day hiking.
Beautiful, tranquil in the heart of the town. Lots of easy paths, bigger than we thought. And free, free parking and free access. Great place to work off the lunch or supper you ate in downtown!
A few hikes easy or moderate, you can enjoy a half-day there. Soothing river, nice spots for a pic-nic or reading a good book. Bring your water.
The parc has entries at a couple of places/levels. It's worth checking out the whole thing. The views of the water are great, the rock formations are also very interesting. Very natural setting. Nice chance to see ducks etc. There's a green and scenic picnic area, a bridge, and nice walking trail.Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area - for lunch and a walk.
Found this park while staying in Riviere-du-Loup for the night travelling from Halifax to Toronto. Beautiful waterfall. Great spot for an evening stroll. Bring your hiking sneakers.
It was a foggy morning and grey clouds everywhere after a long rain storm. Luckily it was holding off for us to check out this marvel! Absolutely beautiful. Water was brown but am sure is nicer when no rain storms are present! We got to see the falls from different angles as well as cross over it. Really breathtaking.
Very close to main street and nice to hike up the falls and very senic!! don't miss this spot. falls only open on weekends during winter
We drive from Ontario to Atlantic Canada every August and always make a point of stopping at Parc des Chutes. It's a wonderful break for the kids and the dog during a long drive. The falls are beautiful and it is a great spot for photos. It is close to restaurants and shops downtown. There are plenty of parking spots, picnic tables and lovely hiking trails. There is no entrance fee and there are washrooms on site. A must see if you are in the area.
