Long established restaurant with newly oped outdoor setting. Good menu and service. Well located adjacent to small lake featuring ducks etc
This garden was planted in the mid 19th century and contains magnificent trees and wide lawns. Stay for an hour, picnic all day. This is a great place to meet friends of all ages.
worth a visit. Tranquil, well established, interesting and refreshing. Great spot for lunch away from the hustle and bustle.
A very good place to chill out even in a hot summer afternoonWe went there near sunset but you barely feel the heat if you stayed in the shadeVery beautiful flowers everywhere, roses, lotus etc..
It closes early (2pm) but the food is fine, wine list is good and the service cheery. The location however is sublime. I'm just talking the cafe, seated by the lake - watching the breeze, water, turtles and birds.....charming
The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year. Cool and shady, with many gazebos and rotundas in which to shelter/picnic in all weathers, there are ample facilities for all tastes. The restaurant is first class (although be warned that the prices are quality-matched), and there are two cafes. The one behind the restaurant is excellent for lunches, with an outlook to the lake, a variety of food, and a glorious tree (oak?) under which to eat if the tables inside do not appeal. The other cafe is more a coffee & snack venue, and is situated right next to the water-lily pavilion and Digger's shop. The shop sells plants, seeds and equipment, and gives advice when requested. The adjacent Museum of Economic Botany is interesting. The lovely North Lodge, by the gates on Plane Tree Drive (parking area) sells craft goods and cards made by Friends of the Botanic Gardens to raise funds, and also has Gardens-raised plants for sale cheaply. The BiCentennial Conservatory, Wetlands development and the Rose Garden are all at the eastern end of the Gardens and worth a visit. There are guided walks (free), daily I think, at 10.30. The children have the opportunity to run amok on the lawns, or investigate & play in an interesting environment. A jewel in the middle of Adelaide!
Adelaide Botanic Gardens is a Garden, where you can walk, learn about plants, relax, sit down on the grass and see beautiful plants. It is a perfect site to go, when you are very tired and need a bit of relax. There you can see a lot of plants, above all typical plants of Australia or only relax.
Cool and shady on a hot summer day providing a little relief from the hot sun. The trees provided plenty of shade protecting the plants below and people walking through the gardens.
Great gardens with beautiful walks. We went in the afternoon which was a bit hot go early morning or in the evening when it is cooler. Lovely restaurants and cafe ( closed when we visited) in the grounds and on the way out. We discovered the Australian wine centre.
