An enjoyable place to have a casual bite to eat. Staff were friendly and the staff giving wine tasting were excellent. Friendly and knowledgable. The food was ok, not gourmet but tasty and plentiful. The platter was enough for two and the Caesar salad nice. Prices were reasonable and the wine accompaniment offer was varied. A good place to stop on the way.
The meal was the freshest quality food that I've been served, in pleasant surroundings at a very reasonable price .Well worth the drive.
very inviting cellar door, lady went through the list and as we were intersted in Pinot noir she was very helpful, even though she was busy, she always smiled. Cafe was busy too. Toilets excellent.
Tasting the wine was a delight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now on to lunch. Wow. The ham and cheese salad rolls were fantastic. The dressing was amazing and salad very tasty. My son had nachos which he enjoyed. All in all a 5 out of 5. Staff friendly and young man from Belgium was very helpful and lovely. Highly recommend for a visitor from interstate such as myself.
Even though we were a large group booking, we enjoyed a pleasant 3 hrs at this winery. After splitting us into 2 gps, one had a tasting while the others received a tour of the estate. The staff are extremely knowledgable with no question too stupid. The wines are special with their signature Kreglinger sparkling brut and the pipers brook estate Pinot Gris and there is a cafe for that quick latte . We were served a memorable buffet luncheon which topped off a wonderful day. Well done Pipers Brook.
Great cellar door and wine on offer, Jerry's (Old Bean) service was exceptional with his cleansing of the tongue experience! Don't discriminate against trying wines you wouldn't drink as this vineyard will surprise you with what it produces, even the 9th Island label (Chardonnay) which you would pull out for friends at a BBQ - You'll be selfish with the Pipers Brook Label itself. We had lunch at the cafe and that was just as good (all other places offer cheese plates only)
Amazing choice of wines on offer. The cellar door staff member was so welcoming and very knowledgable. We had a bite to eat in the cafe next door - simple but lovely food. My favourite cellar door experience in the Tamar Valley.
We had the $40 tasting for two, which was comprehensive and tasty. We were unable to finish it. A broad wine tasting followed. Choose your favorite from the good list offered.
We weer a larger group of 10 looking for a light and tasty lunch. Chose the pipers Brook cafe based on previous - years ago - experience with the restaurant. Whilst not of a full restaurant quality the Cafe served up some very nice food. We had a seafood platter for two, meat platter for two, nachos, salmon baguette, ham baguette and a pie. All of the meals were well received. The baguettes are large, fresh and very well made. the seafood platter and meat platters come with excellent warm bread, some of the best i have had with this type of meal. seafood platter contained 4 oysters, a couple of mussels, octopus, smoked salmon and two pieces of cooked salmon with a very nice dill aolli. The meat platter looked to be even better value with lots of sliced meats and quail. I would have this if we went back.the service is efficient and pleasant. All of the Pipers Brook wines are on sale at only a dollar or two over the cellar door costs - which makes them good value i.e. only 22.50$ for the very nice pinot gris. My only quibble is they need to make more of the beautiful setting. The cafe out door seating is in a small courtyard - probably to shelter from the wind. It would be nicer for fine days to have some tables and seats truly outside so you can sit eat, drink and enjoy the scenery. Also the large banked grass area would be a great venue fora day on the Green concert! recommended but with just a little more thought re the seating this could be so much more.
We stopped here as a cafe was advertised with contemporary food. Quite limited menu, but the food was nice. Large range of wines to taste, including 9th island. A relatively big winery, so not the same feel as some of the smaller family cellar doors.
Whether you are familiar or not with the Pipers Brook product the winery is very inviting for everyone. The atmosphere when you pull into the drive, which by the way is shared with the equally famous and popular brand Tasmanian label Janz, makes you feel immediately as if you are driving in France. It is a beautiful vineyard and property. The drive into the winery car park is really lovely. When you arrive the building includes a cafe with a lunch menu and separate tasting room. The tasting provides a list of all wines available for sale and starts from the top of the list and works down. The Pipers Brook product is what I recommend particularly the sparkling wines which are amazing. They also manufacture another range which I have purchased previously and are great as table wines with meals. Great winery to bust and one of the larger producers in Tasmania.
