We have visited Bellrowan Valley horse riding for over 5 years. Mark and Julie take the time to understand your skill level and then match you with the appropriate horse. They look after you from start to finish. The horse trails are excellent and there is a great damper and tea/coffee waiting for you at the end of the ride. Highly recommended for any age group.

On my birthday my friend surprised me with a horse riding trail at bellrowan valley! it was really cool :) very nice horses and animals and the rainforest was absulutely beautiful! I wished I could stay there for longer. The guide was very kind and helpful and that made it to a pleasant experience! I would highly recomment bellrowan valley horse riding !!

I looked at the options for horse riding in Port Macquarie and Bellrowan Valley looked like a real experience and that's exactly what we got. I surprised my friend for her birthday and I was so glad I did. I got to the carpark, which seemed like in the middle of the bush. Then Mark arrived in his 4WD and picked us up for the drive into a beautifull valley! We are riders with experience and there were also beginners. We were a bit worried about that, but there was nothing to worry about. The guides split us up with the level of experience and we had a great ride! We enjoyed the beautifull rainforest and had a real aussie bush experience! :) As we are from Holland this was just the experience we were after. Thanks Mark and Julie and all of your lovely and funny animals! Especially Angie the goat, Basil and Jet the doggies, and our horses Honey and Merlot!

Great rural location - not too far drive from our camping haven at South West Rocks - and pleased to start the adventure with a drive up to the property with the owner, his trusty dog and a reliable Landcruiser troopy. I was a little apprehensive, not being a natural horserider and not much of a risk taker, however the staff were all super encouraging, calm and I felt at ease. There was a mix of riding ability in the group we were in, and the experience was tailored to each level and everyone had a big smile on their face at the end of the ride. Lovely horses, that are well looked after - and wonderful Australian landscape topped off the adventure. Highly recommended. Will go back next year!

Took our 13 and 16 year old daughters who had only been horse riding once before. The guides were fantastic and very patient. The countryside was beautiful and the damper, jam and cream at the end of the ride topped it off perfectly. Even for the inexperienced, I would highly recommend this!!

My daughter and I had a wonderful afternoon trail ride at Bellrowan in April 2014. We are moderately experienced riders and they were able to tailor the ride and horses to suit our abilities perfectly. The horses at Bellrowan are in beautiful condition and very friendly, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the location is just beautiful. While we were there everything was green and perfect in the valley.The only complaint - we live too far away to come here regularly. This is a place I would return to time and again if possible and would recommend to anyone.

My daughter and I are staying in Port Macquarie and googled what are the local attractions. 52 things to do in Port Macquarie came up and was very informative and beneficial. Bellrowan Valley Horse Riding was at the top of the list which made us think, this is a must to do. We rang and spoke to a lovely young guy named Mark who was very informative. We are carless and Mark even told us how to get to his place using public transport, times and directions. He even went out of is way to pick us up. Very impressive. Mark picked us up in his amazing 4WD and met his mate "Jet" the loving dog. Mans best friend we could clearly see. Driving up to the propertly my daughter and I were in awe. The scenery was spectacular, roads an adventure and Mark was friendly, informing us of the local knowledge. Then we met our horses for the morning. I rode Holy. She was so named as she was born on Christmas morning. Mark gave me the history of the horse, described the horses features and personality. She was one of the best horses I have ever met. So gentle and clean with such a perfect shiny coat. My daughter rode Holys brother Aladdin, a very handsome, clean, robust looking horse. Before we set off on our adventure we were all individually instructed and tested to see if we could ride. Our group had 12 riders plus 3 friendly, caring instructors. The experience of the group varied and the instructors were so patient, willing to offer advice, help, tighten straps and encourage us. Then our adventure began. The property itself is so quiet, tranquil and an adventure on its own but riding through the property on Holy made it so perfect. Hearing birds, seeing goannas, listening to branches creek, hearing and seeing flowing streams and smelling the forest is something we will never forget. A true country experience.Half way through the 10km ride we rested near a gently flowing stream. Perfect picture moment. Then after a few stretches, quick drink, mints and rest we were off again. Arriving back at the homestead we were greeted by freshly baked damper, jam and cream. So yummy. In the paddock next to where we ate were foals and their mare mothers. A true uplifting experience just watching them interact together. Was sad to see the adventure end but will definitely plan another trip back to Bellrowan Valley Horse riding next time we are in town. Highly recommend.

Booked a 1hr trail ride family of 5. Children aged from 11-16 all first time riders. After being met at the car drop off point at 1.30pm we travelled to the homestead. The introduction to the horses and lesson put everyone at ease. The ride itself through the valley was breathtaking. It truly felt like we were part of a Man from Snowy River old Australian experience. Teens were captivated living in the moment the whole ride. After everyone was comfortable, Mark taught everyone the beginnings of trotting and was patient with all of us - as were the horses! The horses were amazing - mostly automatic and knew what to do with such inexperienced riders but the kids still felt like they were using their new skills. After an amazing ride we went back to the homestead for damper. Arrived back our car by 4pm. This is more than just a one hour amazing trial ride - it is a glimpse into Australia's history.

Thanks to Mark, Julie and the Bellrowan team (both with two and four legs) for an awesome getaway! From the hold onto your seat 4WD into the property to the evening campfire and baked dinner during my overnight stay, I couldn't have felt more welcome. It was a great way to end a day and start the next. I went for two rides on different horses, Merlot and Sam- its been a while but so great to be get back in the saddle again, thanks guys!

I've been on many trail rides around Australia and I can honestly say this is the best. Well suited for experienced, inexperienced and nervous riders. Horses are very well looked after and responsive. At all times I felt completely safe. Had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it!

Promised my daughter 5 years ago that if she was still interested in horses when 18 I would shout her the pub run. Well turns out she is still mad about horses so I had no choice but to pay up. Despite not being a real horsey sort of bloke I was looking forward to spending some quality time with my daughter. Mark and his passionate assistants provided appropriate guidance and on our return trip was confident enough to canter (never really got the trotting right). Food was excellent, accommodation comfortable and hospitality excellent. This is a unique experience and one I would highly recommend. Mark, Julie and team keep doing what you are doing!

My husband and I came here while we were holidaying in Port Maq. He had never been on a horse while I had ridden before. Even though our group was a mix of experienced rider and beginners, Mark made sure everyone had an enjoyable ride. Beginners were given time and tuition, the others enjoyed a fast ride. The horses are from the same blood lines and are all beginner safe. All horses are healthy and beautifully cared for. Riding here was the highlight of our holiday and I would recommend Bellrowan to everyone. We will be back to do the overnight ride!

With no experience at all riding a horse, I was impressed and amazed at how well the horse handled me and how excellent the staff were! Definitely worth a visit if near Wauchope. Hopefully next time we have more time and can do a longer trek!

Great horses and great trails both for beginners and experienced. Went to Bellrowan as an experienced rider concerned this would be like other places I had visited where you got on a horse, walked out to a mark and turned around and walked back again. This did not happen at Bellrowan with beginners given their own guides and taken for a more subdued ride and experienced riders had the chance to enjoy controlled trots and canters. I would say this was the best place I have found for an enjoyable ride.

Highly recommend a stay with Julie & Mark along with their clan of exceptionally well loved and cared for horses , the ride was so well organised with all you needs catered for , amazing food , very comfy & cosy cabin and super friendly atmosphere.
