Beautifully layed out and packed full of memorabilia - well worth a visit. Easy to get to and easy parking. All of the staff are of course volunteers, and on my visit the lady who attended to me couldn't have been more helpful. I'm very grateful.

This museum was brilliant, when I first walked in I thought it was just going to be a few rooms but it went on and on, loads of exhibits really worth a visit it's got so much to see you can easily spend a good fews hrs there. The lady suggested if we liked we could leave have a look around and return ......highly recommend

The size & scope of it . And the modest ticket price. Allow at least 4 hrs to see it all. The size was a supprise, we expected something much smaller. Well worth a visit.

This museum is utterly amazing, The number of exhibits is mind blowing and the variety and scope of items, research and value is amazing. The fact they also have a research centre and it is staffed entirely by volunteers shows what an amazing museum this is. Put aside a day or a couple of mornings.

So much to see and learn about our history in this place. Need a whole day to take it all in but your ticket allows you to come and go during the day so start off early to get the most out of what this brilliant place has to offer.

The historic items are actual donated items. While I was there, another visitor asked permission to take a photo of a surveying item he used while doing his apprenticeship. Many things reminded me of times spent helping my Grandmother.Great museum keeping old traditions alive.

the museum is the best I have been to. so interesting and full of things from 'the old days'. I felt so old as I could remember some of the items on display. Hope the museum keeps going for future generations

We stopped off at the Gulgong museum expecting it to be a small quick visit but instead the place was a lot larger than I anticipated and covered a lot more material than I expected to see.There is an incredible collection of all things, some familiar (like the old TVs and radios) and others completely new to myself. The collection of items on display is pretty amazing as you wander through and see the household items used in the olden days, as well as outdoor machinery which would have been used to work the land.Different themed rooms allow you to see items such as nurses stations, medical instruments used during war times, jewellery and dresses worn in different eras as well as living quarters for people during that time in that area.The museum is old and contains a lot of history donated by a lot of people with ties back to the area and definitely worth a visit.

Step back into Australian history with excellent displays from every area of life. This museum has an amazing letterpress and printing display that actually works. Take time out to sit and view the short film by Arthur Johnson, resident printing press officiando. This elderly gentleman not only knows these presses but can restore and work them. Old Tractors, bikes, wagons sit silently awaiting a rider. How tempted was I to step aboard the Cobb and Co pretending I was rumbling across the Australian countryside in the goldrush. I shuddered viewing the hospital display and the delivery bed and forceps of another age. An incredible display of communication and entertainment devices adorn the walls at the entrance from radios, early record players, videos, televisions. This put a smile on my face as all of these things are in my living history. For the geologists out there a wonderful collection of all sorts of minerals and rocks. There is something for everyone that will either bring back memories of your past or create a vision of what life truly was like for the early pioneers of Australia. A must see when you visit the town which used to be on the ten dollar note Gulgong.

This is a must visit when out in Gulgong Region, but I must say, you will have to allow 1.5-2hrs to soak in all the atmosphere that this museum has, plenty to see in there from along time ago, very fascinating equipment and relics, old weapons and farming tools, can only imagine how hard it would have been back then

At first glance the museum seems like a jumble. But if you go around you realize that they have collected items from the history of Gulgong that actually represent the history of Australia and beyond. Most unexpected late there is a large collection of transistor and other radios over the years Victrola's and other music players over the years and other implements representing different periods of time.this is couple with displays on the peace and war time history of the area and a collection of artifacts and rooms representing the pioneering era. It is a very Wade back museum but the people there are very knowledgeable and can tell you almost anything about the history of of the area.

What a treat to visit this rambling museum. Just when you thought you had seen it all, there appeared another room full of memorabilia. Something for everyone - machinery, old wares, fossils etc. Well done to the volunteers who maintain this museum.

The amount of exhibits is incredible. There's lots to see. Something to interest everyone in the family. Even my teenagers founds things that they were interested in. Well worth a look. Allow a good amount of time to look around.

We visited the museum on a freezing cold winters day. The museum is huge, with so many things to look at we didn't get to see it all. The collection of vintage vehicles is impressive. As a family history buff, with ancestors from the area, there are a lot of historical documents and photos well worth the look.

My kids (aged 5 and 7) were quite spooked by this place and wouldn't even enter some of the rooms -- and I could see why. It didn't help that we were the only people there at the time. It had a definite "atmosphere" which was fascinating, but creepy.
