Pastured beef, preservative free sausages, goat, locally caught fish, plants, bunya nuts, native lime, plus a stack of pesticide free F&V. Wish we had something like this in Dubbo!

A little off the main drag, the Moruya Farmers Market is without any doubt one of the best suppliers of locally grown produce not only on the South Coast of NSW but arguably anywhere. It's only open on Tuesday afternoons (not allowed sell anything before 3 pm. because of the dopey Council restrictions) but provides not just locally grown fruit and vegetables but, perhaps more importantly, locally grown beef and seafood. The export (and sashimi) quality Tuna is magnificient: never have we enjoyed such fresh and tasty fresh Tuna. They don't sell frozen or farmed seafood, almost all off the boat. It's not easy to find: if travelling south you turn left immediately after passing over the bridge over the Moruya River, and about 200 metres away should see the park and the stalls. Parking is easy, the people are friendly, and the produce is first rate. There's another market on Saturdays, dealing more with bric a brac and some foodstuffs, but the Tuesday afternoon market is a special. Let's hope the Council let's it keep going.

This unique market lived up to my high expectations. Unusual timing of 3-5pm each Tuesday of the year, it allowed growers to showcase their wares and us public to not rise in the middle of the night to buy the best produce. The quality of the vegies was first class - delectable tomatoes, zucchini, carrots etc., all picked that morning! The best wholemeal sourdough bread. I understand the beef is first class [I couldn't purchase as I was heading back to Canberra and wasn't prepared with cold packs etc.] their queue was long...I highly recommend, even for Canberrans who could make a lovely day trip.
