We stumbled upon Nundle while on a week-long caravan visit to Tamworth; and the township became the highlight of our trip. A pleasant, clean town under the shadow of Hanging Rock it was all good and the lady at the Visitor Information Centre was a priceless font of non-pushy knowledge. The stand-out however was Nundle Woollen Mill that boasts picnic grounds, terrific merchandise, and staff that made us most welcome. Tours for 10 (ten) people plus can be arranged, but there was only two of us so that was off the menu; except it wasn't!! The lady at the counter arranged for us (and another eight or so people who happened to arrive individually in couples (if that makes sense) after us to be given the full tour with every process informatively explained and questions answered. A truly recommended place to visit; not only the woollen mill but the town of Nundle and Hanging Rock with its slightly wilderness lookout.

This "attraction" is a shop inside an old woolen mill. I had a brief look around but nothing was working and no tours were offered as described by other reviewers. At least entry is free.

Don't miss this area!! The woollen mill is great, the antique shop is a great little wander and the pub for a drink in the beer garden is relaxing!!

The Nundle woollen mill is a lovely place to visit, Browse the history of wool making as well as buy gorgeous pure wool to make lovely garments. There is also lovely ready made products you can buy to wear...it is very hard to find lovely pure wool garments like this in other places.

Nice to visit this little village worth the drive. Rich in gold mining history and very interesting. Wish we had more time to look a bit more.

This is one of the last remaining woollen mills in Australia. The tour was very informative. Lovely products for sale as well.

A lovely part of NSW driving to Nundle through all the sheep filled fields. The mill is fascinating with 100 year old machinery, still working, but sadly not on the day we visited. A vast array of wool & garments available to purchase. Appeared to be much imported product, from Japan, Peru, Spain etc which was surprising. Also, I was later informed that the prices were rather steep so you would need to know exactly what you required for a garment before visiting. The friendly staff said they have a website but online shopping was "under construction".

Decided to take a to Nundle to see the last fully operational woollen mill in Australia. You can actually get to feel the texture of the wool in its various stages of processing. The staff will give a detail tour on how the machinery works in full operational. After the tour, there is a gift shop is which holds an impressive selection of woollen products, quality is top notch reasonably priced. Do drop by to go back in time to see how wool are made traditionally. And its free!

Wonderful free tour, fascinating to see each piece of machinery in action. Very knowledgeable guides. If you can't find anything in the gift shop you haven't looked - wool garments, souvenirs, toys and an impressive range of Nundle's beautiful yarn.

Took the in laws to see Nundle, with its fully working mill. Great welcome from the lady at the counter, great seeing the mill and even better the shop offering great items for sale. Something for everyone. Awesome attraction.

The working heart of the woollen mill is right in the shop and there is a free tour. It was interesting to hear about how the wool is milled but probably more value doing the tour if you knit or are really into woollen products.

Well worth the trip to Nundle to see the last fully opertational woollen mill in Australia. My grandsons loved the tour and learning about how wool was produced. The fact they could touch the wool in its very stages and also see the machinery full operational had them in awe. The gift shop is also impressive with a wide range of woollen products on sale and reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommend the experience worth the detour if travelling in the area

Like the town of Nundle the woollen mill is somewhere special. Operational machinery dating back to 1918. Informative and enthusiastic owner. We had a group booking of 80 who had gathered in the Fossikers Tourist Park. Shows the whole process off raw wool to finished yarn. Retail shop attached has a great selection of wool garmets and yarn. Loved the amazing merino wool blend jeans (cool in summer, warm in winter) - amazing feel & excellent fit ($130). Can you believe how fine wool must be for t shirts and business shirts. Business shirts highly desirable garmet but we resisted the $140 for a shirt. I did buy a pair of jeans. Delighted with these.
