Unfortunately The Entrance needs sprucing up.There is a pleasant walk around the foreshore to the bridge and to the ocean but there is not a lot of activities for older people

We've been visiting family on the Central Coast for almost 30 years and never miss a trip to The Entrance!Whenever we have visited it's always a hive of activity. The waterfront park has a great range of free family entertainment with live performances at the open air Sails Stage. At any time of the year, there is a range of special events and festivals, while on the first and third Saturday's of each month, fresh locally farmed produce is available at the seaside Farmers Markets. The Sunday we visited there were Classic Cars on show with plenty of stalls to browse and buy.We didn't eat this time however plenty of coffee shops, take away establishments etc were available to purchase a snack/meal - seagulls in abundance, as usual, looking for any left overs!!Shopping isn't fantastic however with the scenery and lovely walks available it's easier to go else where.

We went to the New Years Eve Fireworks. They made it a great night out for families to celebrate! The night was well organised. Shopping in the area is also great. Shopkeepers are all friendly and welcoming of tourists.

We often like to walk the shopping areas where we stay, just to see how the locals live. The Entrance is basically several $2 shops, a couple of Tattoo parlors and the odd "Surf Cafe".We could not find any souvenirs, even the Tourist Info shop had limited merchandise.

The Entrance is a great place to visit, holiday or live. Not totally sure if we are rating The Entrance as a place or the The Entrance Town Centre?Has numerous coffee shops, cafes and restaurants to frequent and is home of the #1 ranked coffee on the Central Coast - Gotham Coffee which we can say absolutely lives up to its reputation.Get up close and personal with the pelicans at feeding time and enjoy our beaches and natural beauty The Entrance has to offer.I must admit some parts of The Entrance feel a little disjointed from each other, not sure if it's the positioning of the main street/shops or what exactly?

Having first moved to the local area in 1971, I now feel qualified to offer some advice on What's on, where & when at The Entrance. Definitely the best time to visit is out of school holidays, but still in daylight saving time. The top cafes are Hernando's Hideaway at North Entrance, Escape, Kenzies or Tunafish on the South Side.Top Caravan parks are Dunleith or Two Shores, both Northside.Favourite Restaurants are Jinja's, Mi Tapas & Watersedge, all on Fisherman's Wharf, The Pelican Wharf Restaraunt or Hernando's on the northside, The Grand Pavillion [Indian], or just about any of our Asian venues.Main clubs include Diggers & The Greens good entertainment & reasonable meals. Don't forget our Surf Clubs, both south & especially North Ennie, open Fri & Sun from 4.30. Public welcome.Hotels -while the bottom pub caters mainly to tourists [with tourist prices]. The Lakes Hotel [Top Pub] offers a great alternative.Boat Hire -try Pelican Wharf [cheaper rates] Northside, or Feanley's Bridge Boatshed.Beaches - North Ennie usually produces the best sets, but for little ones try Towoon Bay or the Rock pool.Anything else you need help with - accommodation, shopping, emergency services, etc, just ask.

We love this place we live 1.5hrs away but head up around 2-3 times a month. The kids have a blast on the water play park, they also play in the adventure playground and grab and ice cream before heading on the rides. There is always so much to do. The amenities are also well equip everything you need is here. You can swim in the ocean and its fresh and not too deep for the kids. The fishing is always good here too we might not catch our tea but we always get something!

I liked the shopping and the restaurants and the water views. It's very relaxing to walk along the waterfront

This is a nice place to visit especially in the summer months. The town has a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of attractions. There are quite a few good cafes and restaurants to eat at which are very reasonably priced. Make time to see the Pelican Feeding show which happens daily at around 3pm. Also, it is a great place to watch new year fireworks every year which take place at 9pm. A really lovely family holiday destination.

Feeling like a tourist and accepted around locals. Lot of things to see and be entertained by restaurants, beach, nature and great sourandings

Enjoyed the pelican feeding which happens at 3pm (check for updates of course) except I sat too close and got some fish remains on me. Shopping is nice just to wander about and if you have little kids there is a nice water activity park there they can enjoy + some rides

The pelicans skim the water like Lancaster bombers in "The Dam Busters".Feeding them is a delight. Thanks go out to the local fishing co-ops.Not only a Pelican Paradise but also one for the children.Beautiful walks, friendly anglers and good fish & Chips!!!

I really don't dislike this place at all. It's old world charm, cafés and beaches and lake. Gorgeous
