Not the same old burgers and fries. Their food was fresh and tasty and may just have been good for me too ;-)

We have never visited a gallery with so many things that we would have liked to buy and of such quality and good value. It is just as well that our baggage allowance was finite. The first visit was late afternoon for a welcome cup of tea and a browse through the gallery. The second one next day was after my wife spent a sleepless night wishing she had bought one particular item. We also enjoyed an excellent lunch and another wander through the gallery. It is a good thing that we were leaving the area the next day or I might have been getting a call from the bank manager. Even if you aren't tempted to buy something and the price range gives lots of options, the cafe alone is worth a visit for a snack or for lunch.

We were looking forward to eating something after a long drive around the Tablelands and my friend suggested Tolga W & C and what a delightful little place. After looking at the magnificent woodworks which were just mesmerizing we went into the café and ordered lunch. I really enjoyed their bacon and egg pie half the size of a normal pie but quite pricey for $12.00 dollars. My friend had a lamb pie and that was also fantastic and also half the size of a normal pie for $14.50 which he also thought was expensive. I thought for pies with that kind of price tag would be normal size pies which is quite generous but not these ones, they were quite small. And although they were tasty and well received the portions weren't worth the price tag so left with a rather bad taste. The gallery of art work though was fantastic and worth a visit.

This is an art gallery not to miss while visiting the Atherton Tableland in far north Queensland. You will find top quality master pieces and only the best. The main medium is woodwork from very small items right through to furniture. The gallery also show carving, steel work, textiles such as hand painted silk scarves, unusual scarves made of fabric strips, plenty of jewellery some very unique pieces made from recycled materials. There are lovely paintings, prints, cards and pottery.Another unique thing about the place is that the work is done by local artists and the gallery is beautifully laid out and each piece of artwork compliments the other. There is a great little café as well serving delicious coffee, tea and yummy food. Make sure you have plenty of time to wanderer around.

The range if woodwork was amazing, especially the larger items such as the tables. Although very expensive they would be an eye opener in anyone's home. The use if the different types of timbers was quite interesting. The glass and iron pieces added interest to the gallery. The cafe served the best coffee and the scones were perfect.

We drove to Tolga for lunch from Mareeba and it was well worth it . The lunch at the café was great and there was lots to choose from and the iced coffee I had was lovely. Then there is so much to see at the gallery it's impossible to leave without buying something. We spent well over $200 at the gallery buying gifts as well as something for ourselves and we only went there to have lunch. There is more than just woodworks here. There is pottery, jewellery and artwork from the region. It's definitely worth a visit.

We stopped here for morning tea on our way to the Herberton Historic Village. Admission was free. The gallery is small but has some interesting & lovely wood, glass & iron pieces on display. I couldn't believe that a pair of boots were wood-turned as they so looked like they were made of leather!!Their coffee was good & they had a great range of tea. Very friendly ladies working in the tea-room & gallery.

Was so good, I call in on a regular basis. Love their morning tea and lunch time menu. Always have a unique range of art and woodwork on show.

The woodwork is exceptional, both on variety and design. The coffee shop under the built in verandah is cool on a hot day too. A must stop when passing through.

Really good quality local crafts and excellent wood items and paintings. Home made food in the adjoining café makes this a very worthwhile stop in the Atherton Tablelands.

Liked the range of wood used in many different ways. Liked the food and coffee. Some unusual items here that you will not see anywhere else. Worth a stop when going between Atherton and Mareeba.

The Woodworks was a lovely stop to look at the local timber works.Though very expensive for the quality and quantity of the timber.

The wood worked pieces in the gallery are beautiful and if you've got the money to indulge yourself, no doubt worth the very high prices. The glass wares and other assorted pieces for sale all exhibit a high standard of craftsmanship and as a Cairns local, I have, on a number of occasions elected to purchase "special" mementos for overseas visitors from this gallery. The cafe maintains these high standards and produces excellent snacks and meals: in fact, often, after visiting the monthly Yungaburra Markets, we choose to eat here rather than at the many other establishments available to choose from.
