Thank you for your review. The museum is mainly staffed by a dedicated tesm and the displays are constantly changing. We are looking forward to the next few years when there will be many exciting events happening.
This excellent museum is part of a larger development at Jezzine Barracks, Kissing Point, Townsville. Take a stroll along the boardwalk through the gardens. There are artworks everywhere and they are beautiful. Check out the crocodile, brolga, fishermen, crows just to mention a few. They are everywhere and make sure to read the stories behind the sculptures. The museum itself is very well done with lots of memorabilia and loads of information.
Glad you enjoyed your visit and yes Jezzine Barracks are a delight. The Museum is constantly evolving and with the upcoming Centenary of World War One we still have many positive changes to come. Hopefully you will spread the word on both the museum and the parklands.
A great Family day commemorating Townsville's military - both past and present. The World War One Trench room was amazing!
Lots on display and a great site to visit. Heaps of Military history of Australian Army and a delight to see the museum develop more in the future
You mentioned the Fromelles Cornet so I think you will be pleased to hear that it is now on display at the museum in the Crossed Boomerangs Room in Gallery Two. Make sure you get the opportunity to revisit us. You will find the Museum vastly changed.
Just went with a friend and there are some interesting things. If you into history it is interesting.
