Called in this afternoon, had a great tasting, likes the sparkling Shiraz best, good reds, well setup venue is just off the highway with good parking see my pictures.
We just stopped for a wine taste after enjoying a delicious sparkling Shiraz at "the Views restaurant in Hall Gaps. All of the wines here are great, delicious hot chocolates!
Small winery but top class service from knowledgeable personal. Great coffee and biscuits too , chardonnay and the stawell gift shiraz worth trying
It was our first visit ever to the Grampians region. With special thanks to the ever-friendly and delightfully animated Sarah Gutherie, we were enthralled and thoroughly enjoyed our visit and wine tasting! Not just technical appreciation of their wines, but also their charming stories. We also picked up their book, "The Longest Drive", which chronicles Australia's longest trek of livestock from Victoria to the Northern Territory. Truly amazing! We'll be back for sure, not just for the wines, but now to see again a new friend.
The lady at the cellar door was lovely and very knowledgeable. The sparkling Shiraz was beautiful but the experience was lovely as well because of the lovely host. It definitely lived up to the comments in trip advisor.
My friends and I have been here five times in the last five years. We love their wine, especially the sparkling white and Shiraz.... The service is always friendly and welcoming. The coffee is an added bonus. We look forward to returning in 2015. Definitely a MUST VISIT in the Grampians!
Another good winery with good service and wines. The wines were of high quality and not too expensive and the person handling the wine tasting was friendly and knowledgeable. sIt is well worth a visit
We were visiting the wineries in the Great Western area and stopped at the Grampians Estatefirst. Lovely chatty lady gave us tastings of all the wines, also a lot of information about the area. We did purchase some really lovely wine there. Also had excellent coffee while we were there. wine lovers would find this an excellent winery to visit, while smaller than some of the othersin this area, ambiance, fine wines and excellent service make it a must .
This is a very worthwhile stop. The cosy wood-lined, cathedral ceiling winery is modern but with good atmosphere. They serve some light lunches and cheese platters and offer a good selection of coffees ans teas. The lady who hosted our tasting was very good and was somewhat an ambassador for other wineries in the area.Of note is the 2013 Grenache and of course the flagship Grampians Estate Sparkling Shiraz..
We decided to drive from Halls Gap to Grampians Estate after reading other great reviews on here...and we were not let down. We were greeted by a smiling face as we entered the cellar door. The lady working today went out of her way to explain about the wines on offer for tasting. We opted to taste the late harvest muscat , which was delicious, so we each ordered a glass and a shared cheese platter. The cheese platter had a great variety of local produce and cheeses. We throughly enjoyed each componant. We also purchased a bottle of the muscat and a bottle of port, which was also delicious. If you're around the grampians, we strongly suggest to stop by for a relaxing sit down and some tasty wine and cheese. The perfect thing to do on a drizzly winter's day.
We had been driving for days . Not easy to stop in a town with a truck! Saw 'Expresso' advertised on sandwich board - stopped. A great welcome, great coffee & food - great service. We were able to sit & relax. Bought some wine to take with us - ver good. Hope to be back there some day
Saw the "Coffee" signs on the highway as we went back and forward. The coffee was fantastic along with the wine. On the wine tasting stop, we spent hours there with the cheese platter and wine. Great hosts and great conversation. Will be back.
We happened to be in Halls Gap and were looking for a hiking break. The Grampians Estate is just a 30 min drive away and it's defenitely worth a visit. They have really very good wines and they have a very nice cheese platter as well. But the highlight of this small gem is how they host and treat you. We were lucky and were served by Sarah who owns the winery together with her husband. She is such a lovely and charming person and made this stay for us rememberable. A great experience and worth to recommend!
Generous tastings with educated commentary by Goldie. We felt well-rewarded for stopping on our trip home. The sparkling Shiraz is yummy. Will be back for more. As a grandmother, I was also impressed to note the things to do for kids with toys and drawing equipment on hand. Very thoughtful
Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, cheese platter & coffee served by Doug, delighted by his local knowledge/history. Looking forward to calling in next time in the area :-)
