Really enjoyed the cellar door. Staff were lovely.... great venue.Being next to Tuileries was ideal. Enjoyed the café next door a lot and it was a great afternoon.
We tried some lovely lighter style reds here as well as a beautiful muscat. They have heavier reds also but personally I preferred their lighter ones. The lady who served us was helpful and very knowledgeable.Would recommend stopping here to give their wines a go.
Lady was helpful, however a bit gruff. Also we were given the wrong wine! Luckily it was the same price as the one we were billed for...
We visited Cellardoor early in the week. We also enjoyed a lovely lunch at the cafe next door.Lovely cellardoor with great wines, and there was a lovely lady who was informative and friendly during our visit, with great knowledge of both the wines and the local area and it's history. Our visit was tainted though, by the appearance of an older male staff member who abruptly insisted that we sign up to their wine club, with no real manners, and we almost felt like he wasn't going to let us leave until we did so! Fortunately we did, and although we would return in future, were a bit unnerved by the sudden ambush, and felt that the suggestion of joining their wine club could have been delivered more appropriately.
We had a great time tasting wines here. The staff were really informative and friendly. We loved so many of their wines but had to settle on one. Moscato it was! Delicious.
Enjoyed a lovely hour on the weekend tasting beautiful wines....great service and information by the general manager....a must stop when visiting rutherglen
We took the wednesday 'behind the scenes tour' and found it most excellent. Not only did we learnt a lot about the making of the wine, but we had amazing access to the operation; eating grapes off the vine, drinking wine from the process to help understand how wine is made. It really blew us away just how good this is, and it didnt cost a penny so we bought some wine from the counter to help cover their expense and to thank them for putting in the effort.Do the tour, you will not be disappointed.
Not only are the wines excellent all rounder's and the prices very reasonable the local information shared by the woman serving us was excellent. She told us a great deal about the history of the wine growing in the region and suggested great places to visit. Well worth spending an hour or two here.
We were impressed by the wide variety of various grapes that this winery bottled. All the wines were of good quality, and we even signed up to their wine club due to this experience. The staff were helpful, courteous and knew their wines well. I was most impressed with their 2012 Tempranillo, which I thought was great value for the price. Also attended a wine appreciation class offered by this winery. Located in historical building close to town. Well worth trying if you are in town.
We visited here for wine tastings, the staff were very helfpul and knowlegable and the wines were delightful so we had to buy a few bottles
Great friendly service, loved the wines. Very clean and tidy. Tried various wines, checked out the other products besides the wines Nothing to dislike..
Just love the award winning wines from Rutherglen Estates. So good that I have been a member of their wine club for many years . I get a delivery twice a year which is very convenient.Situated just off the main road of Rutherglen and lots of parking makes its accesible to pass byers. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. What can I say the product speaks for it self. My personal favourites are Viognier, Durif and the Muscat.Open 7 days a week from 10am to 530pm. Quite excited for their new Zinfandel which has just been released and tried some on the weekend.
Great location close to accommodation and the main part of town. Colocated with cafe and restaurant (Tuileries) - both of which I've tried on other visits to Rutherglen and highly recommend. Inside, there is lots of space to move, friendly staff, and a great selection to taste. I had to cut my visit short to get picked up for another winery tour, but will be going back for a much longer stay.
Tried many wines and liked the Rutherglen Tokay best. Bought some bottles and you can get a discount if you belong to NRMA or RAC motoring. Staff behind bar were generous and allowed us to take a photo of ourselves behind the bar. Make sure you walk out the back to inspect the vines.
A good selection of tasting wines. The customer service was excellent with the lady giving us some great cycling tips and shortcuts as well as trading chook photos. She even delivered our purchases to our motel.
