A large expanse of green on the bay. Pretty location, opposite cafés and bars. Has a market once a month. Great location but DULL unless you have a picnic or there's a market or event on. Clean and largely safe
Lovely gardens, interesting local history. Very clean and well maintained. Great for picnic and a chance to let the kids run free.
The view over Corio Bay from Steam Packet Gardens when the sun is coming up in the morning is just glorious. On a still morning I love nothing more than participating in my morning fitness squad at these gardens.Lovely for a walk, great place when there are events on, or a spot to take the family for a little picnic. Check out the bollards whilst you are here, they are a great sight to see.
Steampacket Gardens will often hold local markets on weekends or host events on the waterfront. It's a great spot to come and laze on the grass with a book in the summer and was a terrific idea by the designers!
These are also the location of various different weekend activities from car club events to a farmers market. nice lawns to sit on.
A beautiful setting beside the beach with lots of seating and car parking (Geelong has free weekend parking till end of March). There is play equipment for the children seats to sit a watch the beach. Beautiful lawns to enjoy a picnic on or lots of restraunts / cafes to eat at also.Great wide walking paths something for everyone and on a hotter day nice cool breeze beside the water.
This park sits next to the Carousel. This antique carousel is right on the Geelong Foreshore, very close to the Four Points Sheraton Hotel. Not far from the Geelong Pier and the Geelong Yacht Club. An open lawn with beautiful trees around the perimeter
From the carousel to the helicopter ride, our days were spent wandering around the beach front creating memories of a wonderful trip!
Steampacket is fun. Nice, varied menu with some healthy options at lunch, and very tasty pizzas in the evening. They know how to make a good coffee, too. We picked up some take-home lasagna, too, which was good value.
After visiting this area on our way to Melbourne we really feel in love with this part of Australia and has really made us think of moving over. It was modern, not too much hustle and bustle still enough shops and entertainment to keep you busy.Great find.
What more can you ask for, beautiful views, plenty of room to run around, all the facilities you need for a relaxing time. Close to CBD, plenty of parking available.
These gardens are nice to sit in the sun and if you pick the right day there is often something hosted there like a car rally or there seems to be a semi regular market
