Nice, safe at night, well light, nice during the day too to sit and have an ice cream or something else off of one of the little street vendors.

Nice place to visit when in Popayan. We were there on sunday and liked to walk around, sit on a bench and enjoy the locals in their weekend-spirit. Piecefull place.

I am a bit confused why this is an "attraction" on Trip Advisor.......it is just a park!Unless you are lucky enough (like I was) to actually know someone that lives in Popayán AND that person actually knows the history behind this park.....then it is, as I said, just a park!!Parque Caldas is however a great reference point for those that are "geographically challenged". Being in the centre of the historical city it is a great place to re-locate in order to get your bearings. If you can't find it - you're boned, and you're completely lost! hahaThe park is used during the "Gastronomy festival" - if you are lucky enough to be in Popayán for that festival, check it out!! Great food (even if it is expensive) and night time entertainment!!During the normal Popayán nights, local food trucks park around the edges of Parque Caldas and provide cheap takeaway food that is actually rather delicious and doesn't leave you sitting on the dunny for the next two days!As an extra bonus, once you have located Parque Caldas and have gotten your head around some of the history of it......have a crack at locating the museum that holds the ashes of Caldas (and others) then learn the history of that!!Hot tip - learn Spanish beforehand, or take someone that speaks Spanish. I was lucky enough to have my own personal Spanish speaking guide and I learnt a lot!! (Thanks Alix).If you just like taking photos of the locals in their natural habitat, then this park is good for that. It is chilled, and provides opportunities to snap pics of some of the beautiful people of Popayán in their day to day life.....other than that - it is just a park! haha

This beautiful park is an oasis in the middle of the historic district. There is an abundance of shrubs, greenery and trees. The walkways are lined with benches and its a great place to relax and watch the world go back. It is noticeably quieter and relaxing just a few steps away from the busy shopping district. Evenings and weekends you may find bands, a llama, pony rides and tables of handicrafts. We even managed to see Cesar Puyo practise his slackline routine.

la arquitectura en los alrededores es maravillosa, después de un recorrido por el parque nada más delicioso que tomarse un café en Juan Valdez.

Desde mi habitación en el hotel pude observar el Parque de Caldas, los payaneses deben sentirse muy felices con esta ciudad llena de historia y una arquitectura colonial

Es el centro de la ciudad antigua. Cerca a lugares de interés. Muy acogedor y cálido. Siempre con gente muy pintoresca.

Un bonito lugar para visitar, es el punto de partida para iniciar el recorrido por el centro histórico de la ciudad, en la noche la iluminación es muy agradable y la iglesia y la torre del reloj se ven muy bonitas.

Una bella piazza animata, sulla quale svettano alberi maestosi, incorniciata da bianchi ed eleganti edifici. Una piazza, non un parco... anche se si possono effettivamente incontrare un paio di lama

Un parque muy bonito, pintoresco y tranquilo en donde te puedes sentar y pasar un tiempo de tranquilidad hablando o simplemente observado la arquictura que lo rodea.

Es una plaza amplia , tranquila , segura , muy limpia bien cuidada .Mucho tránsito vehicular por los alrededores

todo funciona alrededor del parque Caldas, cafes, restaurantes, museos, se puede andar a pie sin problema

Para conversar viendo la arquitectura y pasar la tarde viendo el atardecer, que son de los mas bonitos que he visto

Si bien lo llaman "parque" se trata de la plaza Principal de la ciudad de Popayán. Allí convergen los edificios principales y representativos de la ciudad: el gobernación, la catedral y la cámara de comercio. También hay varios lugares para tomar un rico café. Recomiendo sentarse en la plaza y observar la vida cotidiana de la gente. Es un lugar muy concurrido y donde podrás interactuar fácilmente con gente local.

Ir a popayan y no estar en la plaza caldas es no ir. Blaca totalmente,magestuosa. En la noche es preciosa iluminada con colores
