We stopped by to take a look at this large cathedral, which was open to the public on the day we passed through town. It's worth a stop for a photo, but the interior is far from ornate and I would recommend it only to history buffs who have a particular interest in this area or this church.

You can't missed this cathedral as it is at the end of the main road in Canela. I haven't been inside but exterior looks impressive.

Clearly one of Canela's top attractions! Be sure to see the church at night when it is colorfully lighted year-round. During the Christmas holidays, the cathedral is the sight for the main Sonho de Natal Christmas shows.

This is the city cathedral but it is terribly iluminated from outside.We had difficulty to find it at night.

Lovely, outside is good for taking pictures. From the side, the ideal is to sit on the benches and admire the peace that the place provides.

This is a century stone made church. In the middle of a really small town you can find this Gothic church. Really interesting. Enjoy and also stop by to buy chocolate as it is local made and very famous in Brazil, also in the town you can find good prices in hand made stuff and knits clothes.

It is definitely worth visiting twice: during daytime to appreciate the architecture in full (indoors and outdoors), then also by night when many different colourful lights shine on.

Neo gothic architecture visit that will guarantee wonderful photos. You can get there using a touristic bus and it is a 30 minutes visit.There is nothing else around to visit

If you go to Canela, it is definitely one of the landmarks of the town - can be seen from a distance and it sure looks solidly built!!

Great place to visit. I was during summer and the weather was great......A lot of options for lunch and delicious chocolates....

This cathedral in canela is certainly a focal part for the town and a big tourist drawcard, always worth a photo!

For Brazil this church is unique but if you're coming from a country with stone churches it really is not that special. The decorations inside are very modern and a little bizarre and the light show at night makes it appear as though there's a 70s disco happening inside. Worth visiting for 5 mins if you're in Canela but not worth venturing out of your way for.

Nice place to go on sunset. Just a few miles away from Gramado, Canela has this nice church that on sundown has a light show made of color leds. It is worth seeing.

This Catedral is really wonderful, it was a pleasure to visit this place.
