Is one of the most crowded subway can see. There are many different aspects of options. signs and adequate. Building work on the historic property. quite impressive.
I love going there. On top of the great art works that you can see in amazing art exhibits, you can also enjoy the interesting architecture of the venue, as well as good snacks at the coffee shop. One of the top places to visit in São Paulo
We were steered here by a helpful tip from a local when the line at the Pinacoteca del Estado wrapped around three blocks. The permanent and temporary exhibitions were top notch. The space was also extremely well designed. Tons of history on the memorial to the resistance on the ground floor. Only wish more was in English.
the Paulistas are cultural so if you will go to the Pinacotecha be early (it is just behind Estacion De Luz). The exhibitions are greate and the kaffeteria is acceptable. By be patient.
I love this building! It's a glimpse to the past in a very ugly and busy area. Although, there isn't much that the visitor can see once inside the building.
It is home to the fabulous Nemirovsky Collection, of modern art. Great parking facilities and you can also visit the next door Sala São Paulo. It is also walking distance to Pinacoteca do Estado and Estação da Luz.
The Pinacoteca Station building used to be the headquarters of the DOPS, the State police that acted during the military regime. It's been nicely renovated, but unfortunately limits itself to its meaningful history.
The architecture of Pinacoteca is beautiful. It is a nice activity just to wonder around the museum. Often there are amazing exhibitions. I highly recommend... and not to go only once... check out their program and also take the time to enjoy the surrounding cultural options.
Interesting collection of different approaches to visual art: paintings, drawings, photos, sculptures, installations, etc
This is a very interesting building, that was already a prision, and was transformed into an art exhibition place. Excelent quality collection.
if you are a lover of museum, then this is the attraction for you. the artifacts presented are interesting and informative.
I've visited the place once and i fell in love the first time. aside from the awesome exhibit, the architectural design was well crafted. the place is so charming and so so pretty!
This is min fact 2 separate building. The one signposted from the luz metro and one around the other side. Plus don't miss 4 he great sculptures in the park too. Unfortunately the coffee shop had no coffee but the art was good... If too much for one day
For museum fans, Pinacoteca is a mandatory visit in São Paulo. An architecturally beautiful building , adjacent to the oldest park in town, with valuable permanent and temporary art exhibitions. Two blocks from beautiful Luz Train Station and Luz Metro Station. Watch your belongings while on the streets, but you are secure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings around the museum. Strongly recommended !
Pinacoteca is a 100+ year old building that was renovated some years ago and for that was awarded an architecture prize. The building itself is already worth the visit, but there is always a nice exhibit going on, mostly from Brazilian artists, but also from abroad or artists somehow related to Brazil. It is completely handicap accessible, including those with visual deficiencies (there are artworks exclusively made for vision impaired people, that they can touch) and they have guides prepared for this public. There is a cafeteria in the ground floor, facing the also beautiful (but sadly not so well kept) Parque da Luz (Luz Park). You can walk to the Pinacoteca from the Luz Subway Station (Blue Line), which itself is also a gorgeous building. The Portuguese Language Museum is just across the street. Combine the visit of the two museums and have a whole day of fun!
