Amazing! Specially when it's sunny. We got there when it was windy,cold, and it was hailing so we couldn't enjoy the natural color as much but it was still nice.

Have been here during a 3days trip around Uyuni . The Laguna was part of it. The different colors were amazingly as the flamingos inside . Recommended place

I went on one of the 3-day Uyuni area tours, and one of the stops was Laguna Colorada. As a photographer, I wish I'd had more time there, but on these tours you're kind of at the mercy of the driver and schedule. But, it was definitely worth seeing! Uyuni was one of the highlights of my Bolivia trip.

Not very much to say....the tours going from Uyuni, Potosi , Tupiza and more are absolute highlight of every South America trip. Not easy to come there, it is gonna be dusty , cold (freezing cold)....but it is worth....and do not stop there, Laguna Verde is even better!

One of the highlights of the 3 days in Salar and lipez del sur !! a must see.At the time of the say we've visited it, it looked more like a mirror than any other color, still was it stunning !!!

When seeing it in a nice sunny day, it's a big WOW~The color combination is just like in the movie "The life of Pi"; it felt unreal sometimes, especially when there was a clear mirror image of the mountain into the lake.Strongly recommend to bring a telescope and watch the flamingos at details. It's beautiful and amazing!

It is one of the most lovely places, we have visitied up to now. With 1000 or more flamingo's, it is just incredible. Go at some different times, because the colours are changing, depending of the time of the day. Visit the 2 sides of the laguna. We found the colours at noon, the best. Recommended.Take warm clothes, there is always a cool wind there.

This lake is just incredible; I could hardly believe it was really the water that had this amazing color. The hostel we stayed in at the lake was VERY basic, but definitely good enough. Walk to the mirador for a nice view. If you're early or late, you might see the lake change color...

We plan to visit laguna colorada ,so we hired a driver to drive from San Pedro Atacama to the chile border and continue to drive into Bolivia to reach the Laguna colorada,then head on to salar de uyuni..it was a big mistake to plan that route.Following is my worst experience .We depart San Pedro Atacama at 9 am, arrive the Chile border approx 13.30 on the way, we saw 1-2 laguna,the road was fine. We passed through the desert.so far so good.At 2.30 ,we departed from Bolivia border heading to Laguna colorada, on the way, we stopped at 3 lagunas they were pretty much the same. Not impressive. Arrived at Laguna colorada was 17.30 . This Laguna was not spectacular ,the main attraction was its light maroon color due to its micro organism. Nothing else. From 2.30 to 5.30 ,we suffered from dusty bumpy road,headache from 4300 altitude sickness ,tiring, hunger.But the diaster was not the end,we departed Laguna colorada at 17.45, then we continue to drive to salar de uyuni, we suffered the same bad condition until 20.00, the road was better paved and the altitude is down to 3600. It was a bit relax. By the time we arrived our hotel Luna salada was 22.30The whole journey driving in the desert more than 12 hours. The time to spend on the difference Laguna less than 30 minute. I highly recommend no need to see so many Laguna as most of them are more or less the same. Just take a plane to fly to salar de uyuni, it's more comfortable.

unique in the world, with flemingos and volcanos surrounding. Its very cold at night, but step out with all your clouth on to see the stars and the milkyway at night, you will never forget this in your life.

Laguna Colorada was such a welcome surprise. The pinks, blues and white colours are unforgettable and breath-taking. I could have stood there and taken it all in forever. The birds looked as though they were in paradise. It's quiet, reserved, clean and a must-see if you are doing the salt flats tour in Bolivia. Very high altitude tho.

Bolivia offers so many beautiful views, but this Laguna is simply amazing.With the red and blue colours in the lake, bright white salt islands dotted around, green mossy banks and the wounderful pink flamingos, this place is a photographers paradise.Would highly recommend stopping at this place for a great treat for your eyes!

Awesome colors. We where lucky because we had a lot of wind so the water color was realy beautiful. It was part of the three days salt tour.

This is a true jewel of nature. Colours, environment, pristine nature and flamingos. There are really little words to express how beautiful and peaceful is this place. We went during a tour of salares and slept in the nearby. Go there when the sun is still high as you'll see the colours at theit best and stay at least 2 hours.

We had a bit of an epic adventure getting to Laguna Colorada but it was worth it. The drive is over 6 hours from Uyuni, it is extremely dusty and it's not cheap to access the park (well for Bolivian standards, I think it was about $20USD) but it is spectacular once you get to see it from the look out.You will need to do a 2 day 1 night tour from Uyuni to fit it in. I liked the lagoon better than the salt flats. We went in early May when there were not many flamingos (they are only around half the year). I've attached some photos of the lagoon and the sights you see on the way to the lagoon and driving back - amazing!!Our tour company was Blue Line Services. They organised a private tour for 5 of us that was custom - 2 days and 1 night instead of the usual 3 days. It wasn't cheap though and our driver got lost on one night and we had argue with him to take us to the lagoon lookout (if you don't see that don't even bother going). But their car was good quality and decent accommodation for the one night.
