Its located in the heart of historical Plovdiv main street and is a meeting point.Especially at night when is spotlighted is extremely beautiful and has a nice ancient clock on one side.
It is a standard meeting spot in the heart of Plovdiv. I just don't like it when they play their religious chants every day
Beautiful! A must visit. Great architecture and well restorated.Has a nice Imam, who told us a lot about the history of the mosque and the muslim history of town.
It's well preserved and used for worship, with a striking position. Just a pity that the night time illuminations light up everything except the mosque when it's the finest building in the square.
Been there while there was a great art project with mirros spread all over the floor, the space was doubled. It worth visiting and feeling the past years in the air.
This mosque has survived the turbulent history of Plovdiv and the inside is quite nice. The ceiling has been painted with nice murals and it is a friendly area next to the stadium.
We just had time to see outside of the building; but we really liked the view of the mosque.A place to see.
Next to anctient Philippopolis, quite big Mosque in multicultural Plovidiv. Location (close to Orthodox church and Roman times arena) and fact that it was church before somehow represents complicated Balkan history.
The most charming mosque I have ever visit, but was shocked that I cannot hear ezen at Namaz zamani, what is going on here? Hope to see other plovdiv mosques open.
it looks very good at photos. also i like the cafe at down floor. A good place for breakfast snack and for desert. there are turkish food culture produccts.
While it is not the biggest, it is claimed to be the most beautiful. Recently renovated, the mosque is a model for Ottoman art, though it includes Byzantium influences.
It has been a church many years ago, now it's the biggest mosque on the Balkan peninsula. Renovated and very beautiful.
Djumaya Mosque or Cuma Camii is one of the rare monumental buildings in Plovdiv which has been left from Ottoman era in and they restored it very well. It is nice to sit and examine the decorations in the silent environment of the mosque.
Once you enter this mosque that is bang in the middle of the pedestrian street, you are transported into a different world. I was all by myself, and it was very quiet and serene. The ceiling of the various domes were painted in very interesting styles. It really amazes me that a religion that is so steeped in mysticism (think Sufi) has become the breeding ground for certain insane elements who are hell bent on hijacking it to serve their ulterior motives.
This mosque is one of the interesting places in Plovdiv. It is placed near the roman stadium. One may pay attention to the sun clock on the right side of the building. By the way it is working mosque.
