This church situated near to the famous Alexander Nevsky cathedral, real beauty from outside. Golden domes, typical Russian building style admire everyone. Already I visited Uspenski Russian cathedral in Helsinki, but this one very smaller than that. My guide is a Russian origin, he took me inside and explain every thing. I visit there on a Sunday, there was a service going on. Inside only a handful people attended for the service, no room for more people. Inside also beautifully decorated with paintings, ornaments etc. Active church, therefore entry free. Worth a visit.
Very special place. On the left sade of the church is the entrance to the basement and there is a tomb of St Serafim. A lot of people believe that he is making true all of the our;s wishes. U go there, writing on the list of paper what u desire and drop it in the big box next to the St Serafim!I also do believe!
This beautiful small church looks as if it comes from a fairy tale. Located in the heart of the city, the Russian church impresses with its distinctive architecture.
fantastic building and wonderful music.there is alot of history for interested ones in this place and that is more than enough.don't miss the souvenir's market just a few steps from the right hand side of the church.
last time I was here they were doing repairs but that is finished and we simply sat and took in the atmosphere, inspired by a choir practice going on.
Location- hundred metres away from Alexander Nevsky Church in Sofia and is one of the most beautiful place in sofia bulgaria. Very beautiful
It is very close to the Cathedral and considering that there are not that much things to see I recommend to stop by its so pretty at the outside and at the inside you are not allow to take pictures but still you are there so take a look you are not going to be there more than 10 minutes!
Small, beautiful church, located in the center of Sofia. Worth to visit don't miss it. It is small but beautiful.
In the vicinity of Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is located this small but sumptuous Russian Orthodox church. It is situated on Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard. Otherwise, it is called the Church of Saint Nicholas the Miracle-Maker. I with my colleagues were rather astonished at such wonderful sight in the center of Sofia, the capital of Republic of Bulgaria. It reminded me of many russian wooden churches, I had seen in Russia. We may say, that its building, is also connected with the liberation of Bulgaria by Russia from the Ottoman Empire. The church was named after the patron saint of the Emperor, Nicholas II of Russia. The exterior of the church is decorated by the multicolored tiles and above all, as the distinctive parts of this russian orthodox edifice, we've got the five domes coated with gold.Inside, we saw the interior murals painted by the very skilled team of russian artists. The bells are also here, as inevitable elements of every church, donated by Emperor Nicholas II.Very worth of seeing, indeed !
If you will visit Alexander Nevsky Cathedral from your hotel in the city centre it is on your way on the main road. Don't miss it. It is small but beautiful.
Small, beautiful church, located in the center of Sofia. My favorite sightseeing place from the city!
The St. Nikolas church is only a few blocks from the National Art Museum and worth the trip. It is a small church and is partially hidden from the street. But once you go inside you will be amazed. There is artwork from floor to ceiling, as you might expect, but the texture of the frescoes is quite unique. There is a softness and beauty to the art that we did not see elsewhere. My wife decided that this was her favorite site in all Sofia.
Beautiful, small, cozy. Interesting art on the inside. Beautiful architecture on the outside. Located quite close to the ( much larger Alexandar Nevski); well-worth a visit.
The church is an amazing place to visit. It is sooo beautiful and cozy. You have to write a wish and leave paper there and it will come true. Mine already did:)
Charming Russian church in typical architecture, looks like it came out of a fairy tale. There is a crypt under the church, where St. Nikolas is burried, people leave small notes with wishes next to the sarcophagus, the legend sais, they come true.
