popovo historical museum

The museum is on two floors and you can easily spend two hours here looking at the permanent exhibits. Archaeological finds from the regions are laid out on the ground floor in traditional glass cases.The artefacts date from the Neolithic to the medieval period and include some fine objects from the Thracian tombs in the area. Upstairs there is a display devoted to more recent times which features displays on town life and agricultural styles. There is also and some information about significant historical events such as the Independence war, the Balkan Wars, the First World War and the Second World War.
