When we crossed the large number of tourists we could find our fine beach, with a hidden bay and large stones. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, but would like to swim a lot, run on the beach, hike in the mountains, nordic walk in the forest, Baska is the place for you.

Right let me begin with a few words of advice for the Day Tripper to Baska.1) There are several tourists actually based in Baska due to the numerous apartment rentals available so unless you get there early then it will be difficult for day visitors to find a decent spot on the beach. 2) During the peak weeks (July - August) it can become very crowded, as mentioned above even with just the tourists staying in Baska it does reach saturation point for capacity on beach space and in the restaurants and cafes so if you are looking for a completely quiet get away then this is not the place3) Parking, after 10 am you will be lucky to find a place and it can be expensive and there is no direct beach parking so expect to walk for 10 - 15 minutes.People looking to stay there.1) Choose carefully your apartment, a sea view does not mean close to the sea due to the geographical nature of the town. The beach is down hill but the walk home is up hill :). Look for places that are no more than 100 to 150 metres from the sea and make sure they have parking (this is a must which I will re-iterate.2) Strangely enough the prices to be close to the sea are not that much higher than those further away so paying €50 to €100 per week is well worth it as there are not that many public toilets/showers on the beach (only one or two and you have to pay)3) Parking (I said I would say it again) Make sure that your rental has a designated parking area (very important!!!!!!!) This may not be actually at the apartment but normally they are no more than 100 metres away. 4) For me the Old town area is better for renting. You are right in the middle of everything, but the old is quiet at night as there are no bars there.5) Make sure you have aircon!!!!! (simple really)6) Preferably find somewhere with private outside area. This is great for drying clothes and towels, be careful if the public can get to or walk through your area as there are some that will take towels or inflatables :( this is a sad fact and the locals are actually very helpful if they see this.7) Try to drink at one cafe and eat at one restaurant as much as possible, also always tip reasonably well (I do not mean €10 but not small 20 cent) the servers remember you also the local businesses value the repeat business, we had been the year before and always we got free drinks and or desert which helps.8) I prefer the beaches close to the harbor, the reason for this is they are smaller so not so crowded and just off the beach (10 meters) there are excellent snorkeling areas with lots of fish. Do not expect Barrier Reef but it is enough for the amateur enthusiast.9) If you party night life then this place is not for you. Definitely couples and families. Food is good and reasonable. I eat out most days Salad for dinner Pizza/Pasta/Fish in the evening.A few tips more (you are always welcome to contact me via Trip Advisor i am happy to help).Attractions:Jet Ski guys are big but great fun and there is the adrenaline activities including the Water Jet Boots. For younger at the far end, of the beach from the Old Town and Harbor there are the Amusement Parks and Rides (basic but enough to entertain the young children)There is a submarine (it looks like one but really it is a glass bottom boat) this is great during the day but the fish sleep at night, then there is the adrenaline speed boat (superb) 120 kuna for 3 + 1 3 or 4 minutes being thrown around on the sea but with the money. This also acts as a water taxi. There are 3 Larger Vessels that take you to other areas, however these also bring in people (day trippers) these tend to rude people that spend there entire time screwing up your day with their trying to find a place to sit on the beach even though there is not a place. Here I give a note of caution: the locals in Baska are very trust worthy but the people that come in on the boats are not!!!!! If you go for dinner during midday make sure you can either see your place or you do not leave anything they can take!!!!!!Now to Baska, for me and the family it is perfect!!! It is the right mix of Tourist and Local to give me everything I want from the holiday. I like nothing more than to sit in the evening in a bar drinking and chatting. I am also a water baby (A big baby I will grant you) but I can spend all day in the sea. The water is not Egyptian warm but I can spend all day in it and not get cold.I will visit this place every year as I love it there and it is so relaxing, a good friend of mine (holiday writer) said to me that every year you must have two holidays. One to explore new things and one to return to where you know and are comfortable. Baska is like perfect for the place that you know. It has everything that you need but is not so big to be unfamiliar.

After years of travelling abroad and hundreds of holiday areas I think I now founf the ultimate one in Baska, Krk island. Perfectly sized, nice beach, clear water and good service.

We are glad that were able to visit Baska during our vacation in Krk last week. The town is amazing - great combination between nature - sea, wild rocks on the right and green mountain at the left! Houses in Italian style and atmosphere of fishermen town.We found nice place for lunch and had best food there. It is remote but worth visiting

We (me and my cousin) spent our holiday in Baska. Beautiful beaches, nice bars, delicious icecreams. We also tried jet ski. The guy there was really nice, he brought us out to the sea with the jet ski. It was fast, cool and wonderful. 5 stars to the jet ski rental ;)

The beach of Bunkuluka is located just outside the village of Baška, and is part of the same name naturist camping (FKK); unless you’re staying at the camping, the admission to the beach requires the payment of a daily fee of 20 Kn per person (something less than 3 Euro).Leaving from the center of Baška, the most direct way to reach the Bunkuluka beach is to walk along the seafront, proceeding then further and passing through the suburb of Kricin. A final steep rise toward the cliff side introduces to the wonderful view of the bay and on the annexed camping; going then down along the slope, you’ll find the porter’s lodge, where you’ll pay your fee. The walk itself, entirely along the bank, offered us wonderful views on the neighboring islands and an enjoyable and refreshing breeze, mainly when we came back on late afternoon.Once inside the camping, you’ll pass in front of shared structures first, a supermarket, a nice restaurant with a good and wide offer, many tables located inside and outside, where people can take a seat, for eating or drinking something. Moving on, you’ll finally reach the beach, shared by naturism lovers, camping guests and daily visitors. The beach is long and quite narrow, formed by tiny pebbles and cobblestones, that allows an easy access to the sea; the sea water is crystalline and becomes suddenly deep, advising to pay big attention, mainly to children and people less skilled in swimming.Beyond the beach, a quite inaccessible trail runs and climb up along the cliff side, leading to a sequence of small bays, where people looking for less crowded places are going to.On the rear of the beach, the cliff steep slope is covered by a thick pine grove, that is not bringing anyhow any shadow or refreshment onto the beach; whoever would like to shelter from the sun must have a beach umbrella or climb up under the pines. The site’s beauty is making the beach usually quite crowded; nevertheless, this is not affecting the peace and quiet feeling, which probably all the attenders are looking for.An area at the initial portion of the beach has conveniently been committed to dog owners, in such a way to allow even our animal friends to bathe.A beautiful day at a wonderful place; recommended to all naturism lovers!

We have been here for few days, very god promenade at the beach and plenty of bars and restaurants. The beach and sea is wonderful but too crowded in our opinion. until now best on Krk island

We (my husband and I) have been here 3 times and planing to go to Baska this year again. We also spent one summer vacation in Makarska, but Baska is definitely the best beach in Croatia. Absolutely amazing beach, not too big and not too small. Just enough for relaxing holiday. There is a lot of accommodation so you can choose where to stay. Prices are not low, but I would pay more for this place because it deserves it.

Nice place, beautiful beach. It is not too big and not too small!! Just walk around and enjoy. The first of may is a very busy day. Lot of people on the streets. The view from the village to the environment is very nice.

Very crowded, dirty city with a depressing, kind of communistic atmosphere (not very Balkan for my taste). Beautiful beach, but unfortunately very touristic.

It is a blue flag beach and it really costs it. Clean beach, clean water, many (good) restaurants and souvenir shops. Possibilities for one-day trips to buy.Grocery shop (Konzum) at the beach with good prices. There are no parking places directly at the beach, but first places are about 5 minutes by walk.

Yes, parking was a nightmare, but you have to bear in mind it's a prime holiday destination in the middle of holiday season!!! Beach is pebbled so you definitely need good beach shoes or you can pay 4 Euros for a pair of adequate scuba shoes ( don't expect them to last too long no matter what vendors tell you, my other halls started splitting after first day!!)Arrive early to find a spot on the beach before the German horde descend on it and start building their empire!!!View is stunning on Baska beach with mountains as a lovely backdrop, would recommend this, although we didn't stay in the area, we travelled an hour each way twice to languish in the sun soaked Croatian Riviera!!

Cute little town, perfect for an afternoon walk. The most significant thing about it is the small island in the bay of Baska which is so rocky that looks like a mountain floating in the sea. Beautiful view.
