Beautiful part of the town. definitely worth to visit. I really like the old mansions in the narrow street and also the harbour. You can observe the history
I loved the winding narrow streets of this old town. Small coffee shops and kebab restaurants.historic buildings, local old men sitting outside sipping turkish tea, beautiful mosques. Loved every step I took into kaleici. A must go!
it is nice place to see, old town...you can go down to marina by walking stairs and in the other end of marina use the elevator which is free by governor and see nice view, and when u r up there is also small terrace for view, you can watch the view and then there is a big tea garden next to elevator, you can sit and take drinks against the view and enjoy it...there are so many bars and restaurants in old town/kaleiçi, i always choice the places where there is no hustle on street...
This beautiful old town is a must. Full of character and interesting shops. We weren't 'hassled too much by the shop keepers and we did enjoy a bit of bartering. All done with a smile! The harbour has a nice atmosphere with boat trips leaving on a regular basis (we didn't go as it was a little cold while we were there and we hadn't got coats with us)A pretty, interesting and vibrant day out.
After Cordoba city centre the old town of Kaeici bounded by the old wall gave me the feeling of getting lost again .....in its beauty ,historical architecture and cobbled streets. There are lots of hotels, pubs and shops here.In my opinion the goods and souvenirs sold here are cheaper as compared to other cities.Architecture is great here and picturesque. If you just want to enjoy swimming and beach then its recommended to stay at Lara hotels otherwise its worth staying here.
The historic gate, mosque and close by Ataturk house and bazaar with a nice sea view are worth visiting
Bargains at the markets. People so friendly & approachable. LC07 bus to & from hotel for 1 Euro each, a steal!!!
Though it was off season, quiet a few shops in the old town square area that they call Kaleici were active and we had a good time looking around and soaking up Turkish culture. This place will rock in peak season. Lots of shopping and entertainment options.
Great old historic houses, nice shopping bazaar and yatcht would definitely visit again. just get dolmus and get there thet call Kaleici old town
We have visited the old town and harbour many times and its always a pleasure, whether your stopping for a drink in one of the many café/bars or shopping for souvenirs there is always something new to see. The old town is very steep with cobbled roads and paths so can be difficult in wet/damp conditions. The best thing is to walk down to the old town and then get the new lift which is situated nr the harbour to get back up again.
Shopping and sightseeing, good food and plenty to see and do, quaint streets with bazaars for excellent shopping deals, a freely experience if you enjoy a haggle.
Not very far from Lara Beach using the hotel transport. Lots of shops and markets to look around. Nice little harbour. Good to see they have put a free lift to use to get up the big hills.
Quaint narrow streets and interesting historic buildings - pronounced Kar-leecheyFree entry either via the stone steps by the Marina or through Hadrian's Gate - we were pleasantly surprised there was no chargeQuite a few restaurants perched with stunning viewsLots of public toilets (small charge)Dozens of boats in the Marina offering boat trips starting at 10 euros per person for 40 minutes, many options availableGlass lift if the 40 or so stone steps are too strenuousAdded lots of photosWe had a pleasant excursion but prefer Side
