a very small but so effective and attrctive church. All the walls and ceiling full of marvellous fresco. I admired it and would like to see anytime when in belgrade.

Situated in Kalemegdan, from where you can enjoy watching Danube. The church was for solders(from both side of front doors are statues os solders from serbian wars). Inside is just wonderful. Each time l visit Belgrade l have to visit this lovely place!

This church, like the St. Petka's Chapel, is also on a cliffside just below the main Fortress.I didn't find Ruzika to be quite as captivating as St. Petka's Chapel lower down on the cliffside. It's main attraction seems to be outside rather than inside. In the spring and summer, the ivy covering the church is really spectacular. At the far end of the church is a bronze icon of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus. It's difficult to believe that this church was a gunpowder magazine in the 18th century. Worth a visit.

It is well built and when you get in you get an even better feeling. It reminds you of something old and spiritual.

The Church is like a fairytale. Popular along the medieval walls of Belgrade, covered with creepers, preceded by a plateau from which a beautiful view of the Danube and Banat across.

Since we are not Christians, we thought this church is not worth seeing (more like we cannot understand the meanings) since it has no extraordinary design or lot to see.Because its in Kalemegdan we may see it by passing front of it. Then we spend some time there. The place is somehow mystical and you feel the spritituality. So, it definetely worth a visit.

A beautiful little chapel covered in ivy is definitely worth the climb! It provides a soothing, tranquil feeling in opposite of the bustling Kalemegdan.

Very beautiful place (from the outside). Still working (for a long time!) inside. You must visit it!

This church abuts the fortress walls in the Kalemegdan. It has been rebuilt multiple times over the centuries but still has that medieval feel about it. The exterior is covered by vines so it looks cool.

This church is probably the most beautiful in Belgrade - inside and outside. And the outside is quite a sight! All of the church covered in greenery and roses - that's why the name Ruzica ( ruza - rose) in Serbian. A must see place while enjoying Kalemegdan

Located in the historic fortress of Kalemegdan, and walking distance to the excellent restaurant Kalemegdanska Terasa, this small, church is filled with history while still providing an intimate experience

Like Sveta Petka, the church is nice for a quick visit while visiting Kalemegdan. I couldn't imagine spending more than a few minutes in it though.

This small church has a very strong atmosphere, and is used quite intensively by the local people, so the ambiance of living prayer is very strong. It is 'guarded' by two fascinating statues of soldiers ... one knight of ancient times and one of a 20th Century soldier. They both looked so sad to me, which was like a powerful 'message' before going inside the little building. This is also called the 'Church of the Rose'.

This church has been built using the old walls of Kalemegdan and looks assimilated to them; it's completely covered in ivy and guarded by two soldiers of bronze (one dressed like a medieval serb, the other like a serbian soldier from WWI). The inside is intimate, the decoration are pretty modern but beautiful, and there are two candelabres made of bullets and swords from the first world war! It's easy to miss: you can see its bell tower's cross stick out from the northern walls of Kalemegdan.
