Had to stop at Enns for refueling NPG Gas. Decided to make a lunch break here.Enns is considered to be Austria's oldest town.The town has well-preserved fortifications, churches and imposing old town houses.The Stadtturm is The main attraction in Enns.Worth a visit.

43 metres and 157 steps but well worth it. These steps are really steep so glad no health and safety people have stopped access. Fascinated that there is a hotel room in the tower, how do they cope with the bells.Fabulous view from the top.

When I spent my child hood in Enns I used to climb the tower at least once a week to enjoy the view and to check out the impressive bells and clockwork. The view of Enns and its surroundings, the Enns and Danube rivers the mountains and the Mühlviertel cannot be topped.Make sure to be in decent shape when climbing the 15 steps to the top of this tower, which was erected in 1564.Newest feature: There now is a brand new and stylish hotel room half way up the tower (www.turmhotel.at).
