Stunning scenery in panorama, and the middle lake (the Toplitzsee) has a fascinating but very dark history. The Fischerhutte is well worth the walk - best trout ever covered in a huge number of heavenly crispy garlic cloves. Walk from Grundlsee to Toplitzsee is quite a hike. The third lake was little more than a puddle in the middle of summer, but rather other worldly. Entrancing trip all round.

The boat rides were very good. To get the most out of the trip, it is best that you speak German but don't be put off if you don't. You need to be fairly fit for the walks in between boats.There are a few different ways that you can walk from Grundlsee to Toplitzsee, you are left to your own devices to get there and there is often confusion at this point.

Wir haben uns sofort in die Bergwelt verliebt. Hinfahren und staunen, es ist ein Wahnsinn. Es gibt genug Wanderziele. Man kann mit den Bahnderln fahren, wer nit so gut zu Fuss ist.
