Can you imagine Batsi without cars ? Though picturesque, the waterfront is turistically spoilt.But a few steps behind the promenade, along the mule paths which used to connect the village with the island's interior, the original charm goes on.Batsi is the newest village of the island, originating from a small port hamlet, built at ca. 1850, when the pirates' threat had disappeared. It served the communication of interior vilages such as Arni, Aprovato, Katakilos with the "outer" world, connected by wide, stone paved mule ways.Take the wide stair up to "Themelos" cafe - a marvellous example of the 1900 architecture - and follow the dwindling path which runs parallel to the waterfont. You will find yourself in magic green, discover the hidden watering spring of the village, luxurous pre-war villas and humble fishermen houses. Follow the road all along to St George's church and admire the magnificent view from a safe distance from turistic "atrocities".

Relaxing walk in the center of Batsi!! Need to clean it a little bit more!!!! waters running both sides of the path.

From the corner of the harbour next to the restaurants, take the right hand set of white steps, soon you will find yourself on the most cool and tranquil spot on the island with a small stream bubbling past the steps. Carry on up the steps and you will come to a cross roads of paths. Right will take you up to the road, straight on will take you to the top road, but beware the path turns into a storm drain! Turn left to go to the church or back down into the town.

Το Μπατσί είναι ωραίος προορισμός για κοντίνες αποδράσεις απο τη Αθήνα αλλά και για οικογενειακές διακοπές αφού το νησί είναι λίγο πιο μικρό απο τη Νάξο και έχει μέρη να γυρίσεις.Εμείς πήγαμε μόνο για τέσσερεις ημέρες κάναμε μπάνιο η παραλία του Μπατσίου ήταν πάρα πολύ καλή,το φαγητό εξαιρετικό έχει πολλά καφέ και μπαράκια.Προτείνω να πάρετε πρωινό-φοβερά αυγά με προσούτο,καταπλικτικό service-στο καφέ Βεράντα και εξαιρετικό μυδοπίλαφο το καλύτερο που έχω δοκιμάσει ποτέ στο Άμμος και τα δύο βρίσκονται στην αριστερή πλευρά του Μπατσίου.

Wat een bijzondere ervaring om in redelijk drukke plaats zo ' mooie unieke plek te vinden, rust, prachtige natuur, water!
