Kaisers Throne is known for beautiful sunsets and most of the people probably come here because of this. We visited it in the morning and we were very impressed. We saw that whole island with its great view, no wonder this was the Kaisers favorite place on the island, the place where he wanted to build a castle. You can easly reach it with the car, you don't even need to walk by foot at all. I suggest you have gps because near Pelekas there are not very much street indicators and it might be dificult for you to find the way. (it was for us)If you visit Corfu Island, the Kaisers Throne is a must ! Enjoy

Great photo opportunities - the amazing views in different directions are worth the drive up. A charming village Pelekas and the area around is lush green unlike the highest the mountains. Do take a camera, best in the late morning or afternoon or for the sunset.

The title says it all; pick a clear day and go later in the morning when the sun has burned off the mist in the valleys.

Just amazing views on a clear day. Take a camera and someone not afraid to drive up steep roads! Only a view and a hotel with a little café area here.

Not so much a throne but a look out point with incredible views. It's quite some way above the village of Pelekas just keep going and you come to it.There are some steep steps up to it if you enter via the gate but to the side there is a flat paved path (much easier). There's a really nice hotel/resto there too.

Liked - the view and the way up (driving)Disliked - No signs or explanations, so you have to guess for yourself what you see around you

Great view point of the whole island, whacky races style roads to get there but that was part of the fun. Not really a great deal there rather than just the view point.

Uphill climb, but worth the effort, views over Corfu are amazing. Try to pick a clear day but no too hot as fairly steep climb.

We were for the 3rd time in Corfu, but was the first time that we decide to go to see the sunset from Kaiser’s Throne in Pelekas. We decided to go to see the sunset in Pelekas just one hour before the sunset time, after ending the dinner in a seaside tavern from Pirgi. We set the GPS route and saw that there are only 19 km, so we considered that we have plenty of time to arrive there until the sun goes down. The problem appeared when we missed the right turn when exiting Gouvia and we the GPS, being set on the fastest route, re-route us via Kerkyra Town ring that was very crowded at that time of day. So we still had 12 km to Pelekas and only 20 minutes until the sunset (7.42 PM in that day). We ran with 100 km/h almost all the way between Ag. Eleni and Ag. Onofriu junction and as fast as we could up on the serpentines leading up to Pelekas. Arrived in Pelekas squere, the local bus was blocking the way up to Kaiser’s Throne and we had to wait onother 4-5 minutes until the bus started his planned return. Finally we arrived in the top hill parking area we rushed directly on the terrace of the tavern to see the sunset and to make the compulsory photos. Due to a strip of clouds that were at horizon level the sun was almost vanished, but we catch a view pictures.Only the sun went bellow the horizon we had time to see the surroundings and went up to Kaiser’s Throne observation point. It was almost dark but the view towards the east coast of Corfu was still great. We were surprised and also disappointed that the view towards west from the observation deck is mostly obstructed by tall trees. No more than two people can see the horizon at sunset position from the observation deck because the only spot no obstructed by vegetation is very narrow. In our opinion here is a tricky agreement between the owners of the top hill tavern and the Pelekas’ Municipality to keep the trees that are in front of Kaiser’s Throne with the foliage unshaped in order to maximize the presence of tourists on the tavern terrace where the view is much better with no obstructions. If we are wrong and such an agreement does not exist, than is a unforgiving negligence and lack of respect towards the tourist from Peleka’s Municipality.Anyhow, the view from Kaiser’s Throne is great and maybe it will be better to go there by day, in order to enjoy in daylight the beautiful panorama of the Corfu Island.

On the way to Pelekas beach it is worth to take a little extra trip to this place. You'll have great views almoast 360 to the Island of Corfu and if you're hungry there's a nice restaurant up there.

A great place to visit for the sunset - spectacular views and a really nice restaurant next door, where you can watch the sun go down, with a drink in your hand.

Came here during end Apr 2014. A good half day trip. Took an 1 hr (or lesser) bus from old Corfu town bus interchange after lunch (3 to 4pm). Need to hike an additional 30 min upslope (through a little town) to reach the Kaisers Throne and a hotel. Do enjoy the breathtaking pano view of the Corfu island, and dine at the hotel with a spectacular sunset. Just remember to take note of the bus schedule while leaving.
