For me it was nice to visit the museum. I love hyperrealism/popart and foto art. I loved to see sculptures from John de Andrea, Hanson and more..If you visit Aachen, for sure take a visit to this nice museum.

this museum has some top quality modern art but unfortunately it is in a town where most people are there to see ancient sights...it was deserted. the ludwig is heavy on pop art but it (with it's koln sister museum) have one of the world's best collections. worth the visit

If you like modern art, you should definitely go to this museum in a former factory-building. In large exhibition spaces the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions are presented. Unfortunately, the museum restaurant is no longer accessible

It was unfortuate that we seemed to come at a time when some of the exhibitions had been dismantled. There was a good library area with many design books, and a sitting area with journals and a good area for children. We where not allowed to carry any bags around, which had to be looked up in the lockers in the basement.

I'm no expert on Art , however I do enjoy art. There are some provocative pieces in this gallery , some that I could have stared at for hours . I did not understand all of the art on display, however there were many pieces that meant something to me. So from a non art expert , this place is worth a visit

The famous collector couple Peter and Irene Ludwig donated many masterpieces to this museum, originally built in style "Bauhaus" in 1928.The museum contains exemplary major works of American pop art and other meanwhile "iconic" works of modern art. The museum is not as big as many other "temples" of modern art, one reason I visit this museum regularly. Definitely worth visiting.

I usually do not like contemporary art. However, I have to make an exception with the Ludwig. My friend and I were the only ones in this museum; it was a pity. The museum has a astonishing collection of Art from the 60s, 70s and 80s. They frequently organized temporary exhibitions as well. It is so tasteful, we spent three hours in the museum. Why this museum does not receive tons of visitors? Very simple, the building is outside Aachen central area. You will need to walk or take a bus to arrive. The building itself is not very appealing from the outside but inside is wonderful. If you like Pop Art, Graffiti, contemporary chinese art, among others do not miss this museum.

The layout of this gallery is great and it hosts a wide variety of contemporary art.It is bright and welcoming, it's only a shame that you can't get a drink or a snack here, at least not in December when we visited.

Excellent collection of contemporary art and regurlaly surprising special expositions

Nous étions très enthousiastes à l'idée de visiter ce musée, mais avons été refroidis dès l'entrée : pas de paiement CB, et une petite marche à faire pour trouver un distributeur. Enfin, nous accédons au musée, et commençons par les étages, peu intéressants à nos yeux.Nous entrons enfin dans le vif du sujet : la grande salle. Et là, surprise : elle est en travaux ! Seules deux petites salles sur le côté et la partie vidéo sont accessibles au public !Dommage, le peu que nous ayons vu dans ces salles était très bien, mais payer le prix fort pour voir un tiers d'une exposition, c'est un peu décevant.

Wat een onderkenning van dit geweldige museum met spectaculaire kunst van onbekende en bekende moderne kunstenaars. Dit is de Pont Tilburg meets Guggenheim Bilbao. Niet de buitenkant; dat is niets (bijzonders). Maar wel binnen de grote en grootse kunstwerken, de variatie en de ruimte die het krijgt. Zonder enige twijfel de nummer 1 must-see van Aken. Karel eat your heart out.

Es una vista obligada para los interesados en el arte del siglo XX. Muy poca información en ingles. Patrimonio del coleccionista que se completa con lo exhibido e Colonia.

Topmuseum voor moderne kunst in Aachen. Naast de permanente werken, deze keer twee wisseltentoonstellingen over Modern Icons en Ost West... Catalogi geven uitgebreide informatie over de werken van internationaal gerenommeerde kunstenaars. Merendeel van de werken komt uit de collectie van de Ludwig familie.

Es ist doch einleuchtend, dass die Familie Ludwig in ihrer Heimatstadt ein großartiges Museum baut und so nicht nur in vielen Städten der Welt rund um die Welt ihre Sammlungen zu sehen sind. Hier in Aachen ist zeitgenössische Kunst zuz sammlungen,. Es kommt nicht auf die Menge sondern das Auserlesene und das für die ausgestellten Künster auf das ihnen Typische an. Es sollte auch keinen abschrecken, dass das Ludwig Forum etwas außerhalb liegt.. So mal eine Stunde dem Innenstadtrummel in der Fussgängerzone zu entkommen, wird sicherlich gut tun. Zu empfehlen ist das Forum insbesondere auch denjenigen, die ansonsten mit Kunst oder mit zeitgenössischer Kunst nichts tun haben. Nach einem Besuch wird sich vielleicht vorhandeneSchwellenangst gelegt haben.

De Ludwigcollectie bevat enkele prachtige stukken moderne kunst (Warhol, Lichtenstein, Hanson, Close,....). De werken krijgen voldoende ruimte om impact te maken. Het forum is niet te groot in oppervlakte waardoor het gericht en interssant blijft. P.s.: We zijn er op zaterdag geweest rond het middaguur en het was er zeer rustig.
