The layout of the Zoo was terrible and the map didn't match up. Other than that, it was so much fun! Don't miss the goat feeding area, crepes stand, and if you have little ones the playground is awesome. Prepare to spend an entire day here, do a lot of walking, and see TONS of cool animals.
It was a spectacular when I see lions eating raw meats! A big zoo, worth visiting. There is a combination price if you use a tram.
This zoo is nicely laid out, with a very complete variety of animals. There is a fee for entry. There is an indoor dolphin show, which is great for the kids. The dolphin show is a separate fee. There are a few dining facilities within the grounds, and bathroom facilities are located in various parts of the zoo. There is a parking lot for the zoo, but city buses and trams also stop close to the zoo's ticket office.
We have visited lots of zoos in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. Any time of the year. But this one seemed having very little to see compared to others. Many animals were taken away for winter time. On the good side the animals are kept in very nice and natural environment. Should be much better experience in warmer months.
The Nuremberg Zoo is a fun-filled and educational experience for the kids, and it's leafy park-like layout gives it a relaxing atmosphere for parents to enjoy as well. The dolphin display is a treat, but get there well before the show starts, as good seating is in short supply and the shows get quite packed in summer. The enclosures are quite small, and one cannot help but feel sorry for some animals, that clearly look like their space is being crammed - such as the polar bears.Overall it is a fun outing for the young family with lots of activities, and not too expensive.
An excellent little zoo with nice collection of various animals. Lions and seals are special attractions. Quiet little walkways through the zoo to explore. Tram service from the downtown directly takes you to the zoo.
One of the greatest Zoos in Central Europe. Its Delfinarium, size, overall spirit and number of animal make one of our favorite destinations with our kids. If only the food service would be better. There is basically only one restaurant open during winter with pretty limited variety of food.
A wonderful zoo, some animals have lots of room, others not so much. The dolphins show was great, and there is a viewing room "underground" so you can see the dolphins and the sea-lions swim. Too bad that the only thing they offer for children is a big wooden cart that you have to push around or pull behind you. Motorized carts would be great. There is a big restaurant at the end of the zoo and up hill. The food wasn't all that great, if I could - I would just eat at the cafeteria near the dolphinarium.
My wife and I had a great time at the zoo today. It's a beautiful zoo with nice trails through the forrest between some of the exhibits. There are benches abs picnic tables throughout the park to rest if needed. Our favorite exhibit was the dolphins. The seating area to watch the dolphin show is much closer than anything at places like sea world, and you don't have the large crowds either. Plenty of restrooms, and a great restaurant overlooking the dolphin and sea lions exhibit. Great place to enjoy an afternoon in Nuremberg.
I hardly ever come here. Only if I get forced from my school etc. I always feel sorry for some of the animals. A lot of the cages are quite good sized, but others seem way too small like the dolphins , the crocodiles , the sea cows.. Please change that and let the dolphins back in the ocean!
This zoo is by far the largest zoo that I have been to. It may not have as many animals as some but the animals have large places to stay and places to stay inside once it gets cold. I love that. Prepare for a lot of walking.
Zoos tend to be more of the same, so here's what set the Nuremberg Zoo apart:- an awesome playground!- some animals (really cool ones) that I'd never seen in a zoo before, or even heard of- a dolphin show- huge pretzels for sale at the entrance- more walking than I recall doing at other zoosIf you are in Nuremberg and you want to go to the zoo, this is an excellent choice.
This is a must do when visiting Nuremburg. The zoo is situated in a nice quiet forest setting, with lots of trails. It is easy to reach via the tram.
What a great zoo! The animals seemed happy with lots of room toRoam The kinderslpatz (playground) was the best I have been to in all my travels
I love taking my toddler to the Nuremberg Zoo! It's a lot of walking but there is so much to see, and the animals are well taken care of. We usually go to this zoo because it is close to our base, but sometimes go to Munich Zoo, which is smaller but just as great with it's animals. I prefer this one a billion times over the Berlin Zoo, which had heavy construction going on in the zoo and did not appear to treat it's animals well at all! Only con: no elephants at the Nuremberg Zoo.
