We traveled to black forest for 2 weeks .this attraction was 1 of the best. usually it's not to crowded so you can buy 6 turns ticket and enjoy 1-2 hours of pure fun ( those turns fly very fast). we skipped other attraction and got back for 3 different days. their are tables around so you can bring food and do a picnic .

We were afraid of long queues on a Saturday afternoon, but it was surprisingly fast (about two minutes to get to our turn). So if you're travelling without school kids and can afford to come outside of June/July, it's a good way to avoid the crowds. It's cheaper to buy multiple tickets but it's probably a good idea to buy a single ticket first and see if it's something you want to do for another 6 times.

We drove about 65Km from Strasbourg to the Toboggan Run in Gutach (48°15'56.87"N 8°12'6.78"E) and reached there in 90 min. It was raining in Strasbourg, so we called the Toboggan Run (+49 7831 965580) to check if it is operational, and the answer was yes. There is enough space of free car parking slots. You ride the cart and you pass though the metal trail to lift you to about 300 meter high. Once you reach the top, the ascending journey start and you are now able to take control of your speed. The 1150m track is thrilling and you will want to do it again and again. We bought 2 sets of “6-ticket” (12 tickets in total which can be used by one person or group of people) for Euro 12 each set (We paid Euro 24 and I consider it cost effective). The single ticket is sold for Euro 2.5. Great Experience and highly recommended. There is a café which was offering drinks and light breakfast items at reasonable cost. There are also clean and free bathroom in the placeIf you visit this Summer Toboggan Run, make sure you also plan to visit the Open-Air Museum located at about 3 Km from the Toboggan Run.

Very exciting! The whole family enjoyed this, even those of us that preferred to use the brakes rather than accelerate! Queues quite long during August. May be better to go at either end of the day. Food & beer quite reasonably priced. Aim to spend a couple of hours here and buy a mulitple pack of tickets for better value.

I took my 15-yr-old Son to this rodelbahn. We had fun for a couple of hours. When we arrived, the line was short and thankfully we got a few rides in and got to experience going down the hill as fast as possible. Then, as the place got busier and the line got longer with younger kids who were afraid to go fast, my Son kept getting stuck behind little kids and did not enjoy the ride down nearly as much. The trick is to get here early before the crowd, then you have the track to yourself and can go down as fast as you want!

I had never heard of 'summer toboggan' rides before coming to Kinzigtal. It's a metal track that goes down the steep hillside. You ride in little individual cars whizzing down the track in lovely scenic Black Forest surroundings. It was summer holidays and busy with queues, but all well organised so waiting time was ok. The ride only takes a few minutes so worth buying the multiple tickets with 6 rides so you can have a few goes.Small children ride on their parents laps. There is a brake on the car so you can control speed, though you will want to go as fast as you can! It is good fun. Our children enjoyed it, as did the adults. There were a few other things to do too, playground, coin-op rides. We had lunch there - sausage & chips etc fairly reasonable.

Very thrilling! Children loved the speedy ride downhill. Would suggest going early to avoid queues. Food was expensive as well.

My family (kids age 7 and 8, as well as parents and grandparents) enjoy this ride and we have been already a couple of times. We usually buy a package of tickets and take 6 rides. The cart is for one adult or one adult+one child.Kids are allowed to go on their own age 8+, but they also have to have a minimum hight. Being on the cart you have to push down the handle in order to get speed. If you do not push the handle you stop. For beginners it will take at least one round to get used to the cart and experience the speed. Top speeds are around 40km/h and that is fun.Security at the start usually asks people if they go for the first time and if so, they will allow a bigger distance before the next one gets pulled up. But it can always happen that you have a slow person in front. So in case you are not into rides like this, just leave it and watch.Try to avoid the busy times and it is fun speeding. It is worth a stop for an active half an hour or one hour break.

Great bit of craic even if a little scary!! The karts are pulled up the mountain side in much the same way as a rollercoaster. You then can control the speed by using the brakes (I used this alot first go ;-) ) Really is a fun way to spend an hour or so.

My husband and I stayed right next door at the Rotbauernhof (excellent farm stay!) and walked over one morning for a free ride, thanks to our Konus booklet. The only thing I can compare this to is the alpine slides in the U.S. This ride wasn't nearly as high or long as the alpine slides we've done, BUT, you get pulled up the hill (no walking up!!) and you're buckled in, so it's next to impossible to wipe out, as our son has done on every alpine slide he's been on. Plus it's way cheaper. It's also right down the street from the Open Air Museum, and there's free transportation to get to all of it if you're staying in the Black Forest.

Fun and definitely a good choice for kids of all ages. The ride is safe and the staff is friendly. The roller coaster is installed with shield for light rain. Overall a safe and fun activity to do during the day.

We went in late Sept 2013. Using our KONUS pass, we took the train and then bus, first to the Vogtsbauernhof museum, then walked to the toboggan. There are lockers to keep items in, and the fee is refunded at the end. It wasn't crowded when we went. I was able to ride 3 times, going faster each time. What fun! I would go again in a minute!

Went here mid to late afternoon in early autumn having spent a few hours in Triberg. Worth doing that. Spend time there looking in shops, walking up the waterfall through the forest and then eating some Black Forest gateaux. Then on the main road going north head to the Rodelbahn. Late afternoon it was not that busy. Very cheap 2.50 € so can go more than once. Very scenic too. Track is about 1.5 km long and feels safe and you control your own speed. If as a group let the fastest one go first so they are not slowing the others down. Nice compliment to all the kitsch and touristy stuff of the area. Which don't get me wrong is great but sometimes you need to vary it up a bit. Genuine bargain. Maybe should be a 5 but then a week later I went to Tobotronc at Naturlandia in Andorra and THAT blew this one out the water and then some. But chances are you may not be going to both places on one trip so the Gutach one is good enough.

Fun, fun and more fun! The line moves quickly, the cars are in a fine condition and the price makes you stick to the chair.
