museum am markt

This facility provides a good overview of the town's history with taped presentations and artifacts. It is not a large museum and it is free!

I always enjoy local museums that tell the history of the town and region. This was excellent, though not much was in English.

First, you need to know that in each room you can play an English language intro. At the back of the sculptural pieces, first push the bottom button, then the button that stands by itself, away from the other three.Nice intro to the town and life in early Germany. It's location is right on the Market Plaza in Schiltach. There are three floors and many separate rooms on each.
