This is a good place to learn about cuckoo clocks. They have a lot of cuckoo clocks in this place from primitive to the most advances cuckoo clocks. A good place to buy souvenirs is in the gift shops with wide varieties of cuckoo clocks, which is also part of the biggest cuckoo clock.

We took a bus from marketplatz to schonach untertal.The first big cuckooclock is right on the other side of the bus stop.There is a fee to get inside.we bought quite a few souvenirs and found the price to be less than the shops near the waterfalls.kids will love to see it.A must visit if you cannot visit the other one in schonachbach.

Well yes, we liked it but rally it is a house built around a cuckoo clock & that's about it. Pleasant surroundings and very reasonably priced, nice souvenirs and I suppose just what you would expect - nothing more, nothing less!

While visiting Triberg falls we were advised to take a look at the "world largest" cuckoo clock. As we stepped in the place we were asked to pay EU 1.2 each. We expected some brochure and or explanations which we did not get. We took a look at the huge internals (most made out of wood) and went to the garden to wait to see the clock in motion. It ended up very quickly and left us puzzeled. On the way to Triberg we stopped at the House of Black Forest clocks in Horenberg. The Gaint cuckoo clock has 14 figures and can be activated any time for EU 1, much better choice.

A neat visit if you want to see a large operatioanl wooden model of a Cuckoo Clock in action. We were passing by when this item caught our eye. If you need time filler and/or are interested in the working ov a cuckooo clock, I would encourage a visit to the Weltgrosste Kuckucksuhr.

We visited this on a very wet day. It was very interesting to see the internal workings of the clock. There is also a small display inside. Make sure you are there on the hour to see the cuckoo in action.

Nel periodo natalizio abbiamo visitato questa casetta/cucù più grande del mondo. Siamo stati piacevolmente sorpresi dal modico prezzi di entrata e del museo ocn tutte le spiegazioni. Abbiamo apettato di veder scoccare l'ora e veder uscire fuori l'uccellino (si fa per dire). La cosa che ci ha attratto ancora di più è stato il negozio colmo di orologi a cucù da quelli più antici a quelli più moderni, grandi piccoli e di tutti i prezzi. Siamo rimasti incantati di fronte a tutti i suoni e i movimenti degli stessi. Consigliata la visita!

Dicen que es uno de los relojes de cuco más grande del mundo con forma de casa tradicional de la selva negra. Fue construido por Josef Dold y su nuera hace de guía al entrar. Nos comentó que primero se construyó la maquinaria del reloj y posteriormente la casa para poder albergarlo. Nos enseñó la copia del mecanismo 50 veces más pequeña que el actual. La entrada cuesta 1,20 euros por cada adulto y no puedes hacerte fotos en el reloj a menos que pagues la entrada porque tienen tapado todos los accesos cercano. Desde la carretera se puede apreciar pero queda muy lejos y no se puede parar fácilmente. En invierno cierran a las 17 horas. En la puerta se indican los horarios de acceso. En el interior puedes disfrutar del mecanismo y tienen una pequeña tienda. Una vez dentro puedes acceder frente al reloj para hacerte las fotos y quizás disfrutar de la hora en punto (nosotros llegamos a las 16.55) y ver salir al pajarito.

Casetta occupata all'interno dal meccanismo in legno che fa girare le lancette, muove il cucù e gli da voce. In realtà un tantino stanca...Biglietto modico 1.20 euro. Breve spiegazione del figlio del costruttore che nel 70 ebbe l'idea di ingrandire di 40 volte un meccanismo. Detto fatto. Pendoli ed ingranaggi in legno per realizzare il cucù che fino a qualche anno fa deteneva il record dell'orologio a cucù piu grande del mondo. Fino a quando i copioni a 4 km di distanza ne costruirono uno 50 volte piu grande dell'originale. . Che a me personalmente non è affatto piaciuto. Il meccanismo essendo in legno risente dell'umidità ambientale e sgarra di uno o due minuti al giorno. 3 anni per costruirlo. Il fischio del cucù è generato da due specie di mantici. I souvenir hanno un costo esoso rispetto al ticket.

Sehr interessant die Ausstellung zu sehen auch für Kinder.Hier kann man die verschiedensten Varianten bestaunen ohne direkt was zu kaufen. Kuckucksuhr ist nicht jeder Geschmack.

Se passate da Triberg per le sue famose cascate, a 5 minuti di strada c'è questo piccolo paesino, Schonach, dove c'è il famoso più grande orologio a cucù del mondo. La casetta che rappresenta lo stesso orologio a grandezza naturale è in basso rispetto alla strada di transito principale.Al lato di questo edificio, c'è la casa del proprietario, figlio di colui che negli anni 80 ha costruito questo capolavoro.Si paga un simbolico biglietto per entrare all'interno della casetta ed è come entrare nel meccanismo dello stesso orologio che lui, con grande disponibilità, spiega in un inglese un pò complicato da comprendere. Molto interessante, rende l'idea di quanto sia complessa la tecnica con cui si costruiscono gli orologi a cucù, un autentica arte sopratutto se poi riportata in miniatura. Poi, finita la spiegazione interna, si esce e si possono fare le foto al cucù che, anche se non si è nell'ora esatta, lui fa uscire per dimostrare il funzionamento. Devo dire che eravamo solo noi, ma meglio, ci siamo goduti tutto il giro durato una mezz'ora. Da non perdere se venite fin qui.

Der Besuch der Weltgrößten Kuckucksuhr stand ursprünglich nicht auf dem Programm unserer Reise. Da es kurz vor 15:00 Uhr war, machten wir einen kleinen Umweg, damit wir dies auch sehen konnten. Pünktlich um 15:00 Uhr erschien der Kuckuck aus seinem Häuschen und verkündete die Uhrzeit. Dieses Spektakel findet anscheinend jeden Tag um diese zeit zu sein, bzw. dürfte dies bekannt sein, da neben uns auch noch andere Busse auf den Parkplatz waren, und deren Insassen gespannt auf den Kuckuck warteten. Da wir die ersten waren, hatten wir den besten Platz.

Wenn ich es richtig verstanden habe ist die in Schonach die ERSTE Grösste Kuckucksuhr def Welt gewesen und wurde dann von der unterhalb Tribergs übertroffen.... Stimmts??? na egal, ich finde beide toll !!!!

Einfach zu finden, Weg gut markiert.Das Häuschen ist sehr schön zum Ansehen und die Schwiegertochter des Erbauers -mit ihrem lustigen Englisch- macht das so liebevoll wie es wohl nur geht, wenn man die Entstehungsgeschichte so oft pro Tag wiedergeben muss resp. will.Eintrittspreis = völlig ok.Wenn man grad in der Gegend ist, lohnt sich der kleine Abstecher (Besichtigung dauert nur ca. 20min, dann hat man es gesehen).Einige Verwirrung besteht ob der Benennung "1. Weltgrösste Kuckucksuhr". Dies zumal auf einigen Prospekten und andern Werbeflächen das "1." grosszügig weggelassen wird.
